John George Jr. (born July 31,1946,in Dartmouth,Massachusetts) is an American businessman,farmer,and Democratic Party politician who represented 9th Bristol District in the Massachusetts House of Representatives from 1989 to 1991. [1] He resigned six months into his second term due to a conflict of interest issue. [2]
George was found guilty in April 2015 of embezzling federal funds from the Union Street Bus Company,a firm that he owned,and using that money to benefit his personal farm in Dartmouth, [3] and he was sentenced to 70 months in prison and ordered to pay $688,772 in restitution to SRTA,with which his company was contracted. He is being held at the Federal Medical Center,Devens,and his inmate number is 96292-038.
In late December 2015,over 1 million dollars in cash owned by George was found by the United States Marshals Service. The money,located in safe deposit boxes at various locations,was found during raids in New Bedford and Fairhaven,Massachusetts. [4]

James Joseph "Whitey" Bulger Jr. was an American organized crime boss who led the Winter Hill Gang,an Irish Mob group in the Winter Hill neighborhood of Somerville,Massachusetts,a city directly northwest of Boston. Douglas Preston Woodlock is a United States district judge of the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts. Born in Connecticut,Woodlock graduated from Yale College and worked as a journalist before attending Georgetown University Law Center. After graduating,Woodlock was a lawyer in private practice at Goodwin,Procter &Hoar,and had stints at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Massachusetts. Appointed to the federal bench in 1986,Woodlock presided over a number of noteworthy cases and was a key figure in the construction of the John Joseph Moakley United States Courthouse on the Boston waterfront. The Cockerham bribery case involved the investigation and subsequent trials of United States Army contracting officers and their family members who were accused of accepting bribes in return for steering multimillion-dollar contracts to companies providing services for the US Army in Iraq and Kuwait between 2004 and 2007. According to The Providence Journal,it was among the biggest heists in US history and resulted in the longest and costliest criminal trial in Rhode Island history.
