John Geragosian (born January 29,1962) is an American politician who served in the Connecticut House of Representatives from the 25th district from 1995 to 2011. [1] [2]
The Hartford Courant is the largest daily newspaper in the U.S. state of Connecticut,and is advertised as the oldest continuously published newspaper in the United States. A morning newspaper serving most of the state north of New Haven and east of Waterbury,its headquarters on Broad Street in Hartford,Connecticut was a short walk from the state capitol. Ella Rosa Giovianna Oliva Grasso was an American politician and member of the Democratic Party who served as the 83rd governor of Connecticut from January 8,1975,to December 31,1980,after rejecting past offers of candidacies for Senate and governor. She was the first woman elected governor in Connecticut and the fourth woman to be elected governor of a U.S. state. She is also the first female governor to not be the spouse or widow of a former governor. She resigned as governor due to her battle with ovarian cancer.
Richard Courant was a German-American mathematician. He is best known by the general public for the book What is Mathematics?,co-written with Herbert Robbins. His research focused on the areas of real analysis,mathematical physics,the calculus of variations and partial differential equations. He wrote textbooks widely used by generations of students of physics and mathematics. He is also known for founding the institute now bearing his name.

The UConn Huskies men's basketball program is the NCAA Division I men's college basketball team of the University of Connecticut in Storrs,Connecticut. They currently play in the Big East Conference and are coached by Dan Hurley. With six national championships and 45 conference titles,the program is considered one of the blue bloods of college basketball.
Huskies of Honor is a recognition program sponsored by the University of Connecticut (UConn). Similar to a hall of fame,it honors the most significant figures in the history of the UConn Huskies—the university's athletic teams—especially the men's and women's basketball teams. The inaugural honorees,inducted in two separate ceremonies during the 2006–07 season,included thirteen men's basketball players,ten women's basketball players,and four head coaches,of whom two coaches—Jim Calhoun and Geno Auriemma—and three players—Ray Allen,Swin Cash and Rebecca Lobo—are also enshrined in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. Since that time,an additional twelve women's basketball players,ten men's basketball players,nine national championship teams,one women's basketball assistant coach,and one athletic director have been honored.
The 1999 Connecticut Huskies football team represented the University of Connecticut in the 1999 NCAA Division I-AA football season. This was Connecticut's final season competing at the NCAA Division I-AA level and as member of the Atlantic 10 Conference (A–10),as the program became an NCAA Division I-AA independent the following year. Led by Randy Edsall in his first year as head coach,Connecticut finished with season with an overall record of 4–7,tying for sixth place in the A-10 with a conference mark of 3–5.
The 1927 Yale Bulldogs football team was an American football team that represented Yale University as an independent during the 1927 college football season. The team finished with a 7–1 record,shut out four opponents,and outscored all opponents by a total of 157 to 32. The team was rated as one of the greatest to ever represent Yale. The team included two consensus All-Americans and was retroactively recognized by the Boand System and College Football Researchers Association as the national champion for 1927. The team was ranked No. 5 in the nation in the Dickinson System ratings released in December 1927.

The 1911 Connecticut Aggies football team represented Connecticut Agricultural College—now known as the University of Connecticut—during the 1911 college football season. The Aggies began the season under the leadership of first-year head coach Leo Hafford,who died on October 1,the day after Connecticut's first game. Alfred Corp,who had played football at Brown University the prior year,was appointed as Hafford's replacement later that week. Connecticut finished the season with a record of 0–5. National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and Connecitcut records credit the entire season to Hafford.

The 1978 New Hampshire Wildcats football team was an American football team that represented the University of New Hampshire as a member of the Yankee Conference during the 1978 NCAA Division I-AA football season. In its seventh year under head coach Bill Bowes,the team compiled a 6–4–1 record and finished fifth out of six teams in the Yankee Conference.
