John James Knowlton was a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly. [1]
Knowlton was born on July 17, 1841, in Wales, New York. [2] During the American Civil War, he served with the 29th Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry Regiment of the Union Army. He died of stomach cancer and complications on May 9, 1903.
Knowlton was a member of the Assembly during the 1876 and 1877 sessions as an Independent Democrat.[ citation needed ] Other position he held include Chairman, similar to Mayor, of Seymour, Outagamie County, Wisconsin, in 1870 and from 1872 to 1875 and Butte, Montana City Councilman.[ citation needed ]
Gwendolynne Sophia Moore is an American politician serving as the U.S. representative for Wisconsin's 4th congressional district since 2005. In 2016, Moore was elected to serve as caucus whip of the Congressional Black Caucus for the 115th United States Congress. She is a member of the Democratic Party. Her district is based in Milwaukee and as a result of the 2011 redistricting also includes some Milwaukee County suburbs: Bayside, Brown Deer, Cudahy, Fox Point, Glendale, St. Francis, South Milwaukee, West Milwaukee, Shorewood, and Whitefish Bay. Moore is the first woman to represent the district and the second woman after Tammy Baldwin and the first African American elected to Congress from Wisconsin.
Rush Medical College is the medical school of Rush University, located in the Illinois Medical District, about 3 km west of the Loop in Chicago. Offering a full-time Doctor of Medicine program, the school was chartered in 1837, and today is affiliated primarily with Rush University Medical Center, and nearby John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County. In 2021, Rush Medical College was ranked 64th among research institutions in the U.S. by U.S. News & World Report.
