John Kwedhi is a Namibian trade unionist. He is the secretary general of the Namibia Transport and Allied Workers Union (NATAU) an organisation founded on 5 June 1989 under the umbrella body of the National Union of Namibian Workers (NUNW). [1]

Kwedhi is considered a new breed of unionist, [2] that more than compromising workers' interest to be politically complacent with the power structures, maintains an outspoken approach on the many polemic issues that affect the workers.

He is married to Esther Gideon. They have a son, Ndalipale Kwedhi.

The Air Force headquarters is located at Karibib Air Force Base. John Alphons Pandeni was a Namibian politician and trade unionist. A member of SWAPO, Pandeni was Minister of Regional and Local Government, Housing and Rural Development at the time of his death in 2008.

The Namibia Food and Allied Workers Union (NAFAU) is a trade union in Namibia affiliated with the National Union of Namibian Workers (NUNW). In 2020 it had a self-reported membership of 15,000. NAFAU's organizational strongholds include the fishing industries around Walvis Bay and Lüderitz.

Ignatius Nkotongo Shixwameni was a Namibian politician. He was the leader of Namibia's All People's Party.

Hafeni Ludwig Ndemula is a Namibian politician and trade unionist. A member of the South West Africa People's Organization, Ndemula rose to prominence in the National Union of Namibian Workers (NUNW) prior to independence. As the elected councillor of the Walvis Bay Urban constituency he was appointed to the National Council in 2001 prior to election and re-elected in 2004. Ndemula was reelected as constituency councillor in the 2010 and 2015 regional elections.

Bernhardt Martin Esau is a Namibian politician. A member of the South West Africa People's Organization (SWAPO), Esau has been a member of the National Assembly since being nominated by President Sam Nujoma and subsequently elected in the 1994 Namibian general election.

Ponhele Andrew Mbidi ya France was a Namibian politician and trade unionist. A longtime member of SWAPO, ya France was elected into the National Assembly of Namibia from 2000 to 2005. He was head of the Namibian Broadcasting Corporation from 2005 to 2008.

Peter Naholo is a Namibian politician and former trade unionist. Naholo was a combatant with the People's Liberation Army of Namibia (PLAN), the military wing of the SWAPO liberation movement. In 2009, he was placed sixth on the National Assembly list for the newly formed Rally for Democracy and Progress and earned a seat in the National Assembly of Namibia. On 14 September 2010, Naholo and 8 other opposition NA members were sworn in after boycotting the National Assembly due to electoral irregularities in the 2009 general election. On 19 October 2010, Naholo gave his first speech a member of the National Assembly; in that speech, Naholo asserted that some SWAPO politicians had enriched themselves through government since independence before being shouted down and asked to withdraw the accusation by Speaker Theo-Ben Gurirab. Later in the same session, several members of SWAPO accused Naholo and other RDP members of enriching themselves while in government as SWAPO members.

The government of Namibia consists of the executive, the legislative and the judiciary branches. The Cabinet is the executive organ of government, implementing the laws of the country. It consists of the president, the prime minister and his deputy, as well as the ministers of the Cabinet of Namibia. The legislative organs of government are the National Council and the National Assembly. They make the laws of the country. The judiciary organs of government are the courts. The highest court of Namibia is the Supreme Court. There are also the high courts and lower courts.

Alfred Angula is a Namibian trade unionist. In 2000, he was named the head of the Namibian Farm Workers Union (NAFWU). He became active in the trade union movement prior to independence in 1988.

Evilastus Kaaronda is a Namibian trade unionist. He served as the secretary general of the National Union of Namibian Workers (NUNW). In April 2011, an investigation against Kaaronda was launched following allegations of misconduct; specifically, Kaaronda was alleged to have made unauthorized public statements which discredited NUNW-affiliated unions.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Landless People's Movement (Namibia)</span> Political party in Namibia

The Landless People's Movement (LPM) is a political party in Namibia. It is led by former deputy minister of lands and resettlement Bernadus Swartbooi, who serves as its president and chief change campaigner, and Henny Seibeb, the party's deputy leader. The party has four seats in parliament, which are occupied by the Party's President, Bernadus Swartbooi, Mootu Utaara, Isaacks Edison and Seibeb Henry.

Inna Koviao Hengari is a Namibian politician, student leader and youth activist. A member of the Popular Democratic Movement, she became a member of the National Assembly on 20 March 2020, the youngest since McHenry Venaani in 2004. Previously she served as Vice President of the UNAM SRC and the Students Union of Namibia.
