On August 16, 2023, McMillon was selected to the 40-man roster and promoted to the major leagues for the first time. [6] On August 30, the Royals placed McMillon on the 15-day injured list with a strained right forearm, retroactive to August 28. [7]

McMillon was optioned to the Triple–A Omaha Storm Chasers to begin the 2024 season. [8] In 28 appearances for Omaha, he struggled to a 6.53 ERA with 35 strikeouts across 30+13 innings pitched. McMillon was designated for assignment by the Royals on July 30, 2024. [9]

Miami Marlins

On August 2, 2024, McMillon was claimed off waivers by the Miami Marlins. [10]
