On August 16, 2023, McMillon was selected to the 40-man roster and promoted to the major leagues for the first time. [5] On August 30, the Royals placed McMillon on the 15-day injured list with a strained right forearm, retroactive to August 28. [6]

McMillon was optioned to the Triple–A Omaha Storm Chasers to begin the 2024 season. [7]
