John Barry Mildren OAM (born 20 October 1932) was an Australian politician. Born in Colac,Victoria,he attended the University of Melbourne and then Texas A&M University. He became a teacher,later rising to senior lecturer and head of department at Ballarat College of Advanced Education. In 1980,he was elected to the Australian House of Representatives as the Labor member for Ballarat,defeating Liberal MP Jim Short. He held the seat until his own defeat in 1990 by Michael Ronaldson. Mildren was awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) in the 2018 Australia Day Honours,"For service to the Parliament of Australia,and the community of Ballarat." [2]

John Lindsay Armitage OAM was an Australian politician. Born in Sydney,he was educated at Sydney Technical High School before undergoing military service from 1942 to 1945. He became a bank officer with the Commonwealth and Reserve Banks before his election to the Australian House of Representatives in 1961,when he defeated Roy Wheeler for the seat of Mitchell,representing the Labor Party. He was defeated by Liberal Les Irwin in 1963,but in 1969 won the new seat of Chifley. He held the position until his retirement in 1983.

Michael John Maher was an Australian politician. Born in Sydney,he attended De La Salle College Ashfield and the University of Sydney and became a solicitor. A member of the Labor Party,he was elected to the New South Wales Legislative Assembly at the 1973 election,representing the seat of Drummoyne. He held Drummoyne until resigning to contest the 1982 Lowe by-election,caused by the resignation of former Liberal Prime Minister William McMahon. Maher was successful,and held the seat until 1987,when he was defeated by Bob Woods. Michael Maher was described in 2000 by a subsequent ALP Member for Lowe,John Murphy,as 'one of the most genuine and most loved members to grace this House'.

Alan Crocker Pittard was an Australian politician. Born in Ballarat,Victoria to state politician Alfred Pittard,he attended Ballarat Grammar School before becoming a shoe retailer. He served on Ballarat City Council before serving in the military 1939–45. In 1949,he was elected to the Australian House of Representatives as the Liberal member for Ballaarat. He was defeated by Labor's Bob Joshua in 1951,and returned to Ballarat as a businessman. He was later Commissioner of the Victorian Public Health Authority. Pittard died on Christmas Day 1992.
James Robert Short is a former Australian public servant,politician and diplomat. He was an assistant secretary in the Department of the Treasury before winning election to the House of Representatives as a Liberal at the 1975 federal election. He was defeated in 1980 but transferred to the Senate in 1984,serving until 1997. He briefly served as Assistant Treasurer in the Howard government in 1996,and after leaving politics worked at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and as Australia's special envoy to Cyprus.

In 1972,he was elected to the Australian House of Representatives as the Liberal member for Bendigo,unseating Labor incumbent David Kennedy even as Labor ended the Coalition's record 23 years in government. He served as a party whip in the Fraser government. In 1978 he led a delegation of MPs to Russia. He held the seat until his defeat by the future Victorian Premier John Brumby in 1983.

In 1974 he left the council to run as the Liberal candidate for the Australian House of Representatives seat of Kalgoorlie,losing to long-serving Labor member Fred Collard. He sought a rematch against Collard in 1975,this time winning. He held the seat until his defeat in 1980.

He was a councillor with Port Augusta City. In 1966,he was elected to the Australian House of Representatives as the Liberal member for Grey,defeating sitting Labor member Jack Mortimer. He was defeated in 1969,but in 1970 was elected to the Senate. He remained in the Senate until he was defeated in 1987. He had been dropped by his party,and chose to run as an Independent Liberal.

Born in Launceston,Tasmania,he was educated at Launceston Business College before becoming an accountant and Secretary of the Tasmanian Farmers' Federation. In 1975,he was elected to the Australian House of Representatives as the Liberal member for Wilmot,defeating long-serving Labor member Gil Duthie. When Wilmot was abolished in 1984,Burr successfully contested its successor,Lyons. He held the seat until his retirement in 1993.

He became a barrister in 1959,as well as a company director and grazier. In 1964,he was elected to the Australian House of Representatives as a member of the Liberal Party,winning a by-election for the seat of Denison. He held the seat until his retirement in 1969.

He was elected as the member for Glenelg in the South Australian House of Assembly in 1970 and held the seat until it's abolition in 1985. He stood for Bright at the 1985 election,however he was defeated.
