John Albert Pelling (born 27 May 1936) is a British fencer.

Fencing career

He won a silver medal in the team épée event at the 1960 Summer Olympics. [1] [2]

He represented England and won a gold medal and silver medal in the épée events at the 1962 British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Perth, Western Australia. [3] Four years later he repeated the success at the 1966 British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Kingston, Jamaica. [4]

He was a twice British fencing champion, winning the épée title at the British Fencing Championships in 1961 and 1965. [5]

Soren Hunter Miles Sussman Thompson is an American épée fencer, team world champion, and two-time Olympian. He also represented the US in the 2012 Olympics in London. Thompson won a gold medal and world championship in the team épée event at the 2012 World Fencing Championships. John Erle Fethers was an Australian fencer. He competed in six events at the 1952 Summer Olympics. He was a longstanding member and coach at the Melbourne-based VRI Fencing Club. On 10 October 2009 in recognition of a significant international fencing career, outstanding personal contribution to Australian fencing, and lasting legacy in the training and development of numerous coaches and Olympic athletes, he was inducted as a Living Legend to the VRI Hall of Fame.
