John Reck (1865-1951) was an Alaskan politician and the ninth mayor of Juneau,Alaska,from 1914 to 1916. [1]
The City and Borough of Juneau,more commonly known simply as Juneau,is the capital city of the U.S. state of Alaska. Located in the Gastineau Channel and the Alaskan panhandle,it is a consolidated city-borough and the second-largest city in the United States by area. Juneau was named the capital of Alaska in 1906,when the government of what was then the District of Alaska was moved from Sitka as dictated by the U.S. Congress in 1900. The municipality unified on July 1,1970;the city of Juneau merged with the city of Douglas and the surrounding Greater Juneau Borough to form the current municipality,which is larger by area than both Rhode Island and Delaware.

Charles W. Carter (1869–1961) was a Canadian-born mortician and politician in the U.S. territory of Alaska. He was born in 1869 in Otonabee Township,Peterborough County,Ontario,Canada,the son of James Julian Carter and Sarah Jane Fife. Carter's original name was Silas Whitfield Carter. He was in San Francisco,California,when news of the Klondike gold strike arrived,and he headed north to Skagway,Alaska in 1897. He settled in Juneau,Alaska,in 1899. He was a citizen of Alaska by 1901. He married Alphonsine Cecilia Lovely in Juneau in 1902. Carter served as the eighth mayor of Juneau,Alaska,from 1913 to 1914. In 1947,along with Henry Roden and David Gross,he persuaded the Alaska Territorial Legislature to rename the Pioneers Trust Fund,a regional fund for elderly citizens,to the Pioneer Memorial Fund. Outside politics,he owned and operated a funeral home,the Charles W. Carter Mortuary,which he founded in 1916.

SS Solomon Juneau was a Liberty ship built in the United States during World War II. Named after Solomon Juneau,one of the founders and the first mayor of Milwaukee,the ship was laid down by California Shipbuilding Corporation at Terminal Island in Los Angeles,and launched on 6 February 1943. The Juneau Monument is a public artwork by American artist Richard Henry Park located on the grounds of Juneau Park,which is in Milwaukee,Wisconsin. The base of the statue is made of limestone. On top of the base is a bronze statue of Solomon Juneau. On each side of the base are bronze reliefs. The statue is 5 feet (1.5 m) wide by 15 feet (4.6 m) high.

The Valentine Building,also known as Valentine's Place and Valentine Business Block,is a historic commercial building at 202 Front Street in Juneau,Alaska. It is a prominent,irregularly-shaped two-story wood-frame structure,occupying an entire five-sided city block in the historic heart of the city. It was built in phases in 1904 and 1912 by Emery Valentine,a prominent local businessman who served as mayor of Juneau for six terms. For the first half of the 20th century,the Valentine building was one of Juneau's preeminent addresses,and the building remains a fine example of Alaskan frontier architecture.
Stephen Gregory Fisk was the 13th mayor of the unified City and Borough of Juneau,Alaska,the state capital of Alaska,United States. Prior to his election,Fisk had worked as a fisheries consultant. He died at home just over a month into his term of office after being elected over incumbent Merrill Sanford by a wide margin.
