John Christian Ruckelshaus III is an American politician.
Ruckelshaus is a Republican politician who was a member of the Indiana Senate representing the 30th district where he served from 2016 to 2020. He previously served in the Indiana House of Representatives from 1990 to 1992 from the 49th district. [1] [2] [3] He ran when incumbent State Representative Bill Spencer retired. [4] Ruckelshaus ran for the State Senate in 1992,but lost the Republican primary. [5] He was succeeded by Phillip T. Warner in the 49th district. [6] Ruckelshaus previously served as the Deputy Commissioner of the Indiana Department of Workforce Development for Government Affairs from 2006 to 2008. [7] He replaced Deputy Commissioner Anne Valentine after she retired. [8] He was replaced by Michelle Marshel. [9] Ruckelshaus previously served as a Member of the Washington Township Marion County Advisory Board from 1986 to 1990. Ruckelshaus is the nephew of William Ruckelshaus,the former Deputy Attorney General under President Richard Nixon and the former Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency under Nixon and President Ronald Reagan. [10] His father John C. Ruckelshaus also served in the Indiana Senate. [11]

Birch Evans Bayh Jr. was an American politician. A member of the Democratic Party,he served as a member of United States Senate from 1963 to 1981. He was first elected to office in 1954,when he won election to the Indiana House of Representatives;in 1958,he was elected Speaker,the youngest person to hold that office in the state's history. In 1962,he ran for the U.S. Senate,narrowly defeating incumbent Republican Homer E. Capehart. Shortly after entering the Senate,he became Chairman of the United States Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on the Constitution,and in that role authored two constitutional amendments:the Twenty-fifth—which establishes procedures for an orderly transition of power in the case of the death,disability,or resignation of the President of the United States—and the Twenty-sixth,which lowered the voting age to 18 throughout the United States. He is the first person since James Madison and only non–Founding Father to have authored more than one constitutional amendment. Bayh also led unsuccessful efforts to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment and eliminate the United States Electoral College.

Floyd James Fithian was an American educator and politician who served as a United States Representative from Indiana as a Democrat. He was one of the forty nine Watergate Babies who won election to the House of Representatives in the wake of the Watergate scandal during the 1974 House elections with Fithian himself defeating Earl Landgrebe,who became infamous for his stalwart defense of President Richard Nixon. He was one of the fourteen members of the House Select Committee on Assassinations (HSCA) and believed that the Kennedy assassination in 1963 was orchestrated by members of organized crime.
