The John Virginius and Annice Bennes House is a house located in the Arlington Heights section of Portland, Oregon designed by prominent architect John Virginius Bennes for he and his wife, Annice. The house is registered on the National Register for Historic Places. [1]

The house was designed in the style of Mediterranean Revival and Prairie School architecture, the latter of which Bennes has been credited with for introducing to Oregon. [2]

John Virginius Bennes American architect

John Virginius Bennes was an American architect who designed numerous buildings throughout the state of Oregon, particularly in Baker City and Portland. In Baker City he did an extensive redesign of the Geiser Grand Hotel, designed several homes, and a now-demolished Elks building. He moved to Portland in 1907 and continued practicing there until 1942.
