Jon Ayres Cisky (born September 6,1941) is an American former politician in the state of Michigan.
A native of Saginaw,Michigan,Cisky was a professor at Saginaw Valley State University in the Department of Criminal Justice. Cisky is also a former sergeant in the St. Clair County Sheriff Department. In 1984,Cisky founded Crime Stoppers for the State of Michigan. [1] He served in the Michigan State Senate from 1991 to 1998,serving districts 14 and 33 as a Republican. [2] In 2006,he was granted professor emeritus status at SVSU. [3] He is married with two children.
Saginaw County,officially the County of Saginaw,is a county located in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2020 Census,the population was 190,124. The county seat is Saginaw. The county was created by September 10,1822,and was fully organized on February 9,1835. The etymology of the county's name is uncertain. It may be derived from Sace-nong or Sak-e-nong,as the Sauk tribe is believed by some to have once lived there. A more likely possibility is that it comes from Ojibwe words meaning "place of the outlet" –sag and ong. See List of Michigan county name etymologies.
Saginaw Valley State University (SVSU) is a public university in University Center,Michigan in Saginaw County. It was founded in 1963 as Saginaw Valley College. It is located on 748 acres (303 ha) in Saginaw County's Kochville Township,approximately 5.5 miles (8.9 km) north of downtown Saginaw.

Harvey Randall Wickes Memorial Stadium, known simply as Wickes Stadium, is a 6,800-seat football stadium located in Kochville,Michigan and is a part of the Ryder Center sports complex on the Saginaw Valley State University campus. It is home to the Saginaw State Valley Cardinals football team. The Cardinals compete at the NCAA Division II level as a member of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

Randy Awrey is an American football coach,former player,and former track and field coach. He is the head football coach at Perquimans County High School in Hertford,North Carolina,a position he has held since 2018. Awrey served as the head football coach at Kentucky Wesleyan College (1990–1994),Lakeland College in Sheboygan,Wisconsin (1994–1998),Saginaw Valley State University (1999–2007),and Concordia University Chicago (2013–2017),compiling a career college football coaching record of 134–106–1. He was also the head track and field coach at Michigan Technological University from 1982 to 1986 and St. Lawrence University from 1986 to 1990.

Eric R. Gilbertson was the third and longest-serving President of Saginaw Valley State University,in the U.S. state of Michigan. He succeeded Dr. Jack McBride Ryder as President of SVSU in August 1989,serving until his retirement in February 2014. Since his arrival,approximately $196 million in construction has been completed on the SVSU campus,with enrollments increasing from 5,915 in fall semester 1989 to over 10,000 when he left office.
The Saginaw Valley State Cardinals are the athletic teams that represent Saginaw Valley State University,located in University Center,Michigan,in NCAA Division II intercollegiate sporting competitions. The Cardinals compete as members of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference for all 16 varsity sports. The Cardinals have been members of the GLIAC since it was founded in 1972.

The Battle of the Valleys is an NCAA Division II football rivalry between the Grand Valley State University Lakers and the Saginaw Valley State University Cardinals which began in 1975. Both teams play in the GLIAC. Since 2003,the week leading up to the game has featured a fundraising competition between the two student bodies with proceeds being donated to local charities. Grand Valley and Saginaw Valley have met four times in the NCAA Division II football playoffs. While not considered part of the rivalry series,both teams count these games in the all-time head-to-head records and are included below.
