Jon Jaylo (born July 1975) is a Filipino surrealist painter, now based in New York City, USA.

Early life

Jon Jaylo was born in Manila, Philippines in 1975. His family moved to Chicago, Illinois to finish his grade school, but he returned to the Philippines after graduating, to study Advertising at Far Eastern University. [1]


Career

Jaylo began creating art when he was four years old. He cites among his artistic influences René Magritte, Paul Delvaux, Gustav Klimt, Frida Kahlo, Salvador Dalí and William Bouguereau. [2]

His public music life started when he released an album recorded in a makeshift studio in 1982 in Davao City. To date, he has released fourteen albums.

Elizabeth McGrath is an American artist and singer. She is based in California who works primarily in the fields of sculpture and animation. Her work is often evocative of the darker side of life, and she has been nicknamed Bloodbath McGrath after the subject matter of her works. Geraldine Javier is a contemporary Filipina Visual Artist whose work is best known for her work which blends of painting with various media, and is "recognized as one of the most celebrated Southeast Asian artists both in the academic world and in the art market."

Juan Carlo Calma is a Filipino visual artist and architect based in Makati, Manila, Philippines. He has been called "one of the Philippines’ bright young stars in architecture, interior design, and visual arts."

Anton Del Castillo is a multi-awarded and critically acclaimed Filipino visual artist known for the stunning craftsmanship and meticulous design of his artworks that meditate on critiques of modernism and contemporary life. The Ayala Triangle Gardens is a 2-hectare (4.9-acre) landscaped urban park in Makati, Metro Manila, Philippines. It was named after its owner and developer Ayala Land, and opened to the public in November 19, 2009. Inspired by Hyde Park in London, the park, which is dotted with palms, acacia trees, and tropical foliage, is considered one of the few "green" areas in Makati.
