Jon Robert Cart (born 1964) is an American flautist and piccoloist. He is a professor of music at the John J. Cali School of Music at Montclair State University. [1]
Cart was raised in Deputy, Indiana. He holds a Bachelor of Music degree in performance from DePauw University, a Master of Music degree from Indiana University, and a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Maryland.
He has performed with Philadelphia’s Network for New Music, [2] at the Atlantic Music Festival, [3] and as a solo recitalist at the Kennedy Center, [4] Carnegie Hall, [5] and in China. [6] Cart is the founding flutist of the Éxi Chéria chamber ensemble. [7] He is the executive director of the Marcel Moyse Society. [8]
Cart was previously the dean of the College of Fine and Performing Arts at Rowan University [9] and the director of the John J. Cali School of Music at Montclair State University. He currently teaches an introductory music course and flute performance. [10]

A tenor is a type of classical male singing voice whose vocal range lies between the countertenor and baritone voice types. It is the highest male chest voice type. Composers typically write music for this voice in the range from the second B below middle C to the G above middle C (i.e. B2 to G4) in choral music, and from the second B flat below middle C to the C above middle C (B♭2 to C5) in operatic music, but the range can extend at either end. Subtypes of tenor include the leggero tenor, lyric tenor, spinto tenor, dramatic tenor, heldentenor, and tenor buffo or spieltenor.
A contralto is a type of classical female singing voice whose vocal range is the lowest female voice type.
Marcel Moyse was a French flautist. Moyse studied at the Paris Conservatory and was a student of Philippe Gaubert, Adolphe Hennebains, and Paul Taffanel; all of whom were flute virtuosos in their time. Moyse played principal flute in various Paris orchestras and appeared widely as a soloist and made many recordings. His trademark tone was clear, flexible, penetrating, and controlled by a fast vibrato. This was a characteristic of the 'French style' of flute playing that was to influence the modern standard for flutists worldwide.

The quintet has for 21 years been named Visiting Guest Artists in residence at the University of Minnesota.

Jimmy López Bellido is a classical music composer from Lima, Peru. He has won several international awards and has been nominated to a Latin Grammy Awards. Pieces composed by him have been performed by the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Philadelphia Orchestra, Boston Symphony Orchestra, Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra, National Symphony Orchestra of Peru, Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra, MDR Leipzig Radio Symphony Orchestra, Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Houston Symphony, and Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France. Joseph Rampal was a distinguished flutist in his own right, albeit better known as the father of the internationally renowned soloist Jean-Pierre Rampal.
Louis Moyse was a French flute player and composer. He was the son of influential French flutist Marcel Moyse, a co-founder of the Vermont Marlboro Music Festival, and taught many world-class flutists all over the world. He died of heart failure at age 94.
Paulo Costa Lima is a Brazilian composer and music theorist. A member of the Brazilian Academy of Music, Lima's main interest is the interaction between composition and culture, including its political aspects, namely composition as a way of resisting colonization and against the "waste of experience," the traditional circuit in which ideas (theory) are produced elsewhere and absorbed by the South. Lima's publications are on topics such as the theory and pedagogy of musical composition, analysis and history of Brazilian contemporary music, analysis of Brazilian popular songs, the possible dialogue between music and psychoanalysis, and cultural semantics. Lima's compositional interests include rhythmic tradition of the Candomblé.
Blanche Honegger Moyse was a Swiss-born American conductor who lived in Brattleboro, Vermont at the time of her death. She was particularly admired for her devotion to the choral works of Johann Sebastian Bach and her ability to draw deeply moving performances from both amateur and professional musicians. Soprano Arleen Auger has said of her, "I’ve sung Bach all over the world, often with people who are considered the best, and in my opinion no one is performing Bach any better than Blanche Moyse is doing it in Brattleboro."
Margarita González Ontiveros was a Mexican-born mezzo-soprano and contralto. She combined a bel canto technique with interpretation in French, Russian Spanish, Italian, German and Nahuatl. An extremely versatile singer, her repertoire ranged from classical opera seria to the bel canto music of Salvador Moreno Manzano, and Carlos Jiménez Mabarak; further, to the works of Blas Galindo, Manuel Ponce and Tata Nacho. In her career she took challenges as to sing many Mexican pieces of Sonido 13, a microtonal system invented by Julián Carrillo in 1925.

Bel Canto is an opera by Peruvian composer Jimmy López. Based on the 2001 novel of the same name by Ann Patchett, the work uses a libretto by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Nilo Cruz. The libretto is sung in Spanish, English, Japanese, Russian, German, French, Latin, Italian, and Quechua. It was commissioned by the Lyric Opera of Chicago as part of the Renée Fleming initiative. Sir Andrew Davis conducted, and director Kevin Newbury staged the work. The cast included Danielle de Niese as Roxane Coss, J’Nai Bridges as Carmen, Jeongcheol Cha as Hosokawa, and Andrew Stenson as Gen.
