Jonah Herscu is an American professional basketball coach who is an assistant coach for the Portland Trail Blazers of the National Basketball Association (NBA).

Coaching career

Herscu began his career working in professional basketball as a member of the basketball operations staff for the Fort Wayne Mad Ants of the NBA G-League in 2012. In 2013, Herscu worked for the Chicago Sky of the WNBA as a member of the video and scouting staff. From 2013 to 2015, Herscu was a video intern for the Chicago Bulls. In 2015, Herscu was named an assistant coach for the Mad Ants. [1]

In 2016, Herscu was named as an assistant coach for the Chicago Sky under head coach Pokey Chatman. [2]

In 2016, Herscu was hired as an assistant video coordinator for the Los Angeles Lakers, he worked as an assistant video coordinator until 2018. [3] From 2018 to 2019, he was an advance scout and player development assistant for the Lakers. [4]

In 2019, Herscu was hired as an advanced scout for the Sacramento Kings. [5] Starting in the 2021–22 season, Herscu was named an assistant coach for the Kings. [6] From 2019 to 2022 he worked under head coaches Luke Walton, Alvin Gentry, and Mike Brown.

In 2022, Herscu joined the Portland Trail Blazers as an assistant coach under head coach Chauncey Billups. [7]

Personal life

Herscu was born in Amherst, Massachusetts. [8] He graduated from Lake Forest College with a degree in Coaching: Personal Identity, Sports Psychology and Leadership. [9] He graduated with a master's degree in Sports Science from the United States Sports Academy. [10]

Porter has twice been a head coach, first with his hometown Milwaukee Bucks and then with the Phoenix Suns.

The Missouri Tigers men's basketball team represents the University of Missouri in the SEC. Prior to the 2012–2013 season, the basketball team represented the school in the Big 12 Conference. Michael Malone is an American professional basketball coach who is the head coach for the Denver Nuggets of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He had also been the head coach of the Sacramento Kings in 2013–2014. Malone previously served as an assistant coach of the New York Knicks, Cleveland Cavaliers, New Orleans Hornets, and Golden State Warriors.

The 1990–91 Portland Trail Blazers season was the 21st season for the Portland Trail Blazers in the National Basketball Association. During the off-season, the Blazers acquired Danny Ainge from the Sacramento Kings, and later on traded second-year guard Dražen Petrović to the New Jersey Nets, and acquired Walter Davis from the Denver Nuggets in a three-team midseason trade. The Blazers won their first eleven games of the season, on their way to a franchise best start at a record of 27–3, and holding a 39–9 record at the All-Star break. They would post a 16-game winning streak near the end of the season as they finished with a league best record at 63–19, setting a franchise-high win total that still stands today, and made their ninth consecutive trip to the NBA Playoffs. It was their first Pacific Division title since the 1977–78 season, and ended the Los Angeles Lakers' streak of nine straight years as Pacific Division champions and number-one seed in the Western Conference.

Harkless has represented the Puerto Rican national team.

Paul Woolpert is an American basketball coach and scout. He was the head coach of the Yakima Sun Kings in the Continental Basketball Association (CBA) for seven non-consecutive years. He was named CBA Coach of the Year in 2007 and 2008. He led the Sun Kings to four CBA Championships. A new Yakima Sun Kings team was founded in 2017 and Woolpert was hired as head coach. The team won the North American Premier Basketball (NAPB) Championship in 2018. He was fired during the 2019 NAPB Championship Series.
