Jonas Jonsson (born 10 November 1975) is a Swedish former professional footballer who played as a midfielder.

Career

Jonsson joined Bryne FK from Assyriska FF ahead of the 2000 Norwegian Premier League season. [2] He played in the 2001 Norwegian Football Cup Final. [3] Ahead of the 2002 season he joined SK Brann. He struggled with a serious injury, and was released after his contract expired in late 2003. [4] He did not play in 2004, but joined Stord Sunnhordland FK ahead of the 2005 Norwegian Second Division season. [5]

In the summer of 2005 the club stopped paying wages to six or seven players with contracts, and compensations to the rest of the players. [6] When the head coach, Vegard Hansen, resigned because the club could not longer pay his wages, [7] Jonsson became acting head coach. [8] However, he was not paid at all for coaching the team, [9] and left for Mandalskameratene. [10] He was playing assistant coach. Despite this he went on loan to Stord in the latter half of 2006. [11] After the season Jonsson revealed that there had been cooperation problems with head coach Svein Hansen. He retired from football. [12] In December 2006 he won a Supreme Court of Norway case, and was entitled to compensation for his injury sustained in 2001. [13]

Stord Sunnhordland Fotballklubb was an association football club located in Leirvik, Stord, Norway. It was founded in late 2002 as a cooperation between the football sections of Leirvik's local multi-sports club Stord IL and lower-division Moster IL. The club was named Stord/Moster FK until 2006. Two investors, football agent Terje Simonsen and professional footballer Kjetil Løvvik, were behind the merger. It was founded to create one large club in the Sunnhordland region, to attract support behind the club. Critics claimed that the investors were mainly looking to develop players to sell for cash. Top goalscorer the first season was Kjetil Løvvik himself, who quit a professional career to play for the club.
