Jonathan Gaunt [1] is a golf course architect, a member of the EIGCA [2] and the director of Gaunt Golf Design. [3]

Gaunt or his company have designed over 30 golf courses since 1987, mostly in the UK. These include Ramside Hall Hotel and Golf Club in Durham, Chesfield Downs Family Golf Centre [4] in Hertfordshire, and Linden Hall Hotel & Spa [5] in Northumberland. [6] He was involved in the redesign of the Wike Ridge course at Leeds Golf Centre that completed in 2013. [7]

Mentmore Towers, historically known simply as "Mentmore", is a 19th-century English country house built between 1852 and 1854 for the Rothschild family in the village of Mentmore in Buckinghamshire. Sir Joseph Paxton and his son-in-law, George Henry Stokes, designed the building in the 19th-century revival of late 16th and early 17th-century Elizabethan and Jacobean styles called Jacobethan. The house was designed for the banker and collector of fine art Baron Mayer de Rothschild as a country home, and as a display case for his collection of fine art. The mansion has been described as one of the greatest houses of the Victorian era. Mentmore was inherited by Hannah Primrose, Countess of Rosebery, née Rothschild, and owned by her descendants, the Earls of Rosebery.

Alister MacKenzie Scottish golf course architect

Alister MacKenzie was a golf course architect whose course designs span four continents. Originally trained as a surgeon, MacKenzie served as a civilian physician with the British Army during the Boer War where he first became aware of the principles of camouflage. During the First World War, MacKenzie made his own significant contributions to military camouflage, which he saw as closely related to golf course design. He is a member of the World Golf Hall of Fame. He designed more than 50 golf courses including three that remain in the 2016 top 10 golf courses in the world: Augusta National Golf Club and Cypress Point Club in the US, and Royal Melbourne Golf Club in Australia.

The Grove is a large hotel in Hertfordshire, England, with a 300–acre (1.2 km2) private park next to the River Gade and the Grand Union Canal. It touches on its north-west corner the M25 motorway and remains a small part in Watford. Herbert Charles Tippet

Herbert Charles Coningsby Tippet was a leading British amateur golfer, golf club administrator, and golf course architect in the years between the wars. A former reserve army officer, Tippet was for a time a close associate of millionaire American property developer Carl G. Fisher, the man who created the Miami Beach, Florida resort, for whom he designed a number of golf courses in Florida and Long Island. He was one of the most successful British amateur golfers of the 1920s and 1930s and later served as secretary at several prestigious UK golf clubs. His wife was the grandmother of Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall.

Murrayshall Country Estate & Golf Club

Murrayshall Country Estate & Golf Club, in Scone, Perth and Kinross, Scotland, features two 20th-century golf courses surrounding a 17th-century house. The golf courses were completed in 1981, having received approval from the Tayside Planning and Development Committee in 1976. Located approximately 1 mile (1.6 km) south of Perth Airport, the two golf courses are Murrayshall and Lynedoch.
