Jonathan Osman Ndagi OON, OFR (born 12 November 1929), is a Nigerian scholar, elder statesman and educator. He also holds the chieftain title Wazirin Makaranta Nupe. [1] [2] [3]

Background

Born in the place now known as Katcha, Nigeria, he started his education at Christ Church School, Gusau, in 1940 and finished 1944. Then he attended the Nigeria College of Art, Science and Technology, Zaria, and finished in 1957. He attended University College Ibadan, now known as the University of Ibadan [ citation needed ], from 1959 to 1963, and he gained his MS in educative administration at the University of Wisconsin in 1969. [4] He started his career as a teacher in Teachers College Minna and Niger Middle Bida, later in 1969 he joined Government College Bida. [4] [5] [2]

Ndagi was appointed the vice chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Minna, being the first holder of the position when the institution was established in 1983; he left the position in 1990 after serving for seven years. [6] [7] At the time he left the office of vice chancellor, 42 students were expelled from the school. [8] [9] [10] Professor Jonathan Ndagi was the vice chancellor of the institution from 1983 to 1990. [11]

Ndagi was a prolific writer. [12] [13]

Ndagi is married to Comfort Yiye and they have one son and four daughters.[ citation needed ]

Mohammad Yahaya Kuta is a Nigerian academic, writer and professor of Agricultural and Forestry, University of Ibadan. He serves as Secretary to the state government of Niger state by Governor Mu'azu Babangida Aliyu, and was also commissioner for information and agriculture in Niger State.

Usman Sarki dan Malam Saidu MP, CFR was the Federal Minister of Interior from 1959 to 1962 succeeded J. M. Johnson and served as the 10th Etsu Nupe from 1962 to 1969 succeeding the 9th Etsu Nupe Muhammadu Ndayako. He was succeeded by his cousin, the 11th Etsu Nupe Musa Bello.

Ahmed Lemu, OON, OFR, was a Nigerian Islamic scholar, educationist and jurist, who was the first grand khadi and chief justice of Niger State. He was the founder of Islamic Educational Trust (IET) together with his wife Aisha Lemu and a friend Ashafa Sani Suleiman. He was a member of the Vision 2010 Committee constituted by Sani Abacha, and in 2011 he was appointed as the Chairman of Presidential Committee on Post Election Violence by Goodluck Jonathan to probe the violence which followed the announcement of the 2011 presidential Election results in Northern Nigeria. He died at the age of 91.

Julius Okojie is a Nigerian educational administrator and a professor of Forest Resources Management. He is the former executive secretary of the National Universities Commission (NUC) who served two terms from 2006 to 2016.

The Ahmadu Bello University is a public research university located in Zaria, Kaduna State, Nigeria. It was opened in 1962 as the University of Northern Nigeria.
