He clinched three gold medals at the 2018 South American Games in the men's singles, doubles, and team event. Coelho won a gold medal in the men's singles at the 2019 Lima Pan American Games.
Hussein Iashaish is a Jordanian boxer. He competed in the men's super heavyweight event at the 2016 Summer Olympics. He defeated Mihai Nistor of Romania in the round of 16. He was then defeated by eventual gold medalist Tony Yoka of France in the quarterfinals. Ishaish was the flagbearer for Jordan during the Parade of Nations.
Ahmad Abughaush is a Jordanian taekwondo athlete. He won the gold medal in the 68 kg category at the 2016 Olympics. This was Jordan's first Olympic medal in any sport, excluding a bronze in 1988 when taekwondo was a demonstration sport.
Jordan competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. Originally scheduled to take place during the summer of 2020, the Games were postponed to 23 July to 8 August 2021, because of the COVID-19 pandemic. It was the nation's 11th consecutive appearance at the Summer Olympics.
