Jordan Creek (Little Third Fork tributary)

Jordan Creek is a stream in Clinton and DeKalb counties of Missouri. [1] It is a tributary of the Little Third Fork of the Platte River and is 5.9 miles long. [2]

The stream headwaters arise in the northwest corner of Clinton County approximately one mile northwest of the community of Hemple at 39°44′00″N94°34′36″W / 39.73333°N 94.57667°W / 39.73333; -94.57667 . [1] The stream flows northwest into DeKalb County and turns north crossing under U.S. Route 36. It continues north to its confluence with the Third Fork at 39°46′40″N94°35′46″W / 39.77778°N 94.59611°W / 39.77778; -94.59611 . [1] The confluence is south of the community of Bayfield and approximately one-quarter mile east of the Dekalb-Buchanan county line. [3]

The name may be a transfer from the Jordan River in West Asia. [4]
