Jordan Rich was the host of The Jordan Rich Show on WBZ-AM 1030 in Boston, Massachusetts., [3] a mix of history, arts, pop culture, and other topics. [4] Parts of the shows are carried by WCCO (AM) in Minneapolis, Minnesota. [5] He retired after the July 3, 2016 show in order to spend more time with his family. [6]

Early life and education

Jordan Rich was born in Boston, Massachusetts and raised in Randolph, Massachusetts. He attended Curry College in Milton, Massachusetts graduating in 1980 with a degree in Communications. [7]

Career

Prior to coming to WBZ NewsRadio in October, 1996 and his tenure at WBZ he served as a fill-in host for WBZ NewsRadio long-time weekend overnight show host Norm Nathan who died in 1996. [5] [8]

Rich worked as a disc jockey and talk show host throughout the Boston area, including "morning drive host for WSSH-FM in Boston from 1982 to 1996. He also worked at WRKO-AM from 1978 to 1982, as a co-host of the morning show and a host of his own Broadway music program.". [5] He is also co-owner of Chart Productions, [9] an audio production company. His voice has been included in thousands of voice overs, including The Boston Pops, Sullivan Tire and KB Toys. [10]

Personal life

Jordan Rich resides in Framingham in the Greater Boston area. [1] His wife of thirty one years, Wendy Levine Rich, a special needs high school teacher in Hudson, Massachusetts, [11] had died in August 2013 of cancer. [12] In 2016, he married Roberta Sydney.

Robert "Bob" Lobel is a former sportscaster for WBZ-TV in Boston, Massachusetts. He anchored the sports segments on the evening newscasts between Sunday and Thursday, and hosted the weekly programs Sports Final and Patriots 5th Quarter. During a round of layoffs in April 2008, Lobel's contract was bought out by the station. Golf Digest called him an "iconic sportscaster" with "an impressive resume" that includes having served as a news anchor, NFL and NBA announcer, NCAA Tournament sideline reporter and Fenway Park public announcer.

Toucher and Rich is a Marconi Award-winning morning radio show from 6 to 10 AM on The Sports Hub 98.5 WBZ-FM, in Boston, Massachusetts. The show first aired on June 5, 2006. On August 13, 2009, following the demise of WBCN, the show moved to sports talk station WBZ-FM 98.5 The Sports Hub. Toucher & Rich celebrated their 10th anniversary on August 16, 2016, selling out the Wilbur Theatre for a special 10th Anniversary show, with numerous guests as well as the finals of 98 Mile year 4.

Robert Henry Castellon, known as Bob Wilson, was an American radio personality and hockey broadcaster who served as the longtime play-by-play announcer of the Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League. In 1987, Wilson was honoured with the Foster Hewitt Memorial Award, enshrining him in the broadcasters' wing of the Hockey Hall of Fame. He was inducted into the Massachusetts Broadcaster's Hall of Fame in 2007. Wilson's booming baritone voice and his ability to articulate for radio listeners the dynamic flow and possession changes of ice hockey distinguished him from his peers. He also was noted for his detailed descriptions of hockey fights, which pleased his fans but sometimes gained him disapproval from critics.

Gary LaPierre was a radio and television journalist, who spent most of his career with WBZ, an all-news radio station in Boston, Massachusetts. He also made appearances on WBZ-TV's news broadcasts, often filling in as a substitute anchor. LaPierre retired in 2006 after 40 years at the anchor desk. He had started at WBZ in 1964 as a general news reporter. One of his first assignments was covering the arrival of the Beatles, when they came to greater Boston to perform.
