The State of India,also referred as the Portuguese State of India or simply Portuguese India,was a state of the Portuguese Empire founded six years after the discovery of a sea route to the Indian subcontinent by Vasco da Gama,a subject of the Kingdom of Portugal. Filipe Mascarenhas was the 9th and 15th Governor of Portuguese Ceylon. Mascarenhas was first appointed in 1630 under Philip III of Portugal,he was Governor until 1631 and then in 1640 until 1645. He was succeeded by Jorge de Almeida and Manuel Mascarenhas Homem respectively.

JoséGuedes de Carvalho e Meneses was a Portuguese colonial administrator. He was born on 19 May 1814 in Mancelos in northern Portugal. He was created Count of Costa by King Luís I in 1875. He was an older brother of Vasco Guedes de Carvalho e Meneses who was governor of Angola,Mozambique and Cape Verde.
David Antônio Abisai Pereira de Almeida,better known as David Almeida,is a Brazilian lawyer and politician affiliated to the Avante. He was elected mayor of Manaus in the municipal elections of Brazil in 2020. In 2017 he was interim Governor of Amazonas after the annulment of JoséMelo de Oliveira and his vice-governor by TSE,due to problems in Brazilian justice. The Brazilian Constitution establishes that the annulment of a governor and his vice-governor,temporarily declares the presidency of the Legislative Assembly during the year,until the supplementary internal elections,from which they occurred in 2017,at the time Almeida was president of the legislative authority of the state of Amazonas. In 2020,David Almeida was elected mayor of the city of Manaus by the Avante,turning over the votes in the second round on Amazonino Mendes,of PODE,which ended first in the first round,succeeding Arthur Virgílio Neto,for the 2021–2025 term.
