Josh Campbell (born 6 May 2000) is a Scottish professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Scottish Premiership club Hibernian. Campbell has previously played for Airdrieonians, Arbroath and Edinburgh City, and represented Scotland once at under-21 level.
Born in Edinburgh, [1] Campbell came through the youth system at Hibernian. He was loaned to Airdrieonians in January 2019, [2] and made his first team debut for Hibs in a League Cup match against Stirling Albion in July 2019. [3] He was loaned to Arbroath in August 2019. [4]
In September 2020, Campbell was loaned to Edinburgh City. [5] He helped them progress to the promotion play-off final with goals in both legs of the semi-final against Elgin City. [6] [7] Campbell ended his loan spell with Edinburgh City having scored nine goals in thirty games. [8]
Following his return from his loan spell at Edinburgh City, Campbell came off the bench for Hibernian in their first leg of the UEFA Europa Conference League qualifiers against Andorran side FC Santa Coloma, in the second leg of the qualifying round Campbell played the full game for Hibernian in their 2–1 away win. [9] [10] Three days later Campbell made his league debut for Hibernian as he came off the bench in the club's 3–2 victory against Motherwell. [11]
On 1 December 2021, Campbell signed a new long-term contract with Hibernian, running until 2025. [12] Campbell scored his first goal for Hibernian in a 1–1 draw against St Mirren on 11 December 2021. [13]
Campbell scored a hat-trick in a 6–0 win against Aberdeen on 28 January 2023. [14] Speaking afterwards, Campbell said that it was the first time he had done that at any level since he played as a forward at school. [14] He signed a new contract with Hibs in February 2023, with it due to run until the end of the 2026–27 season. [15]
He was selected in the Scotland under-21 squad in March 2022. [16]

Season 2009–10 for Hibernian was their eleventh consecutive season of play in the Scottish Premier League. The SPL season began on 15 August 2009, with a 2–1 win against St Mirren at home. After a very strong start to the season in which they challenged for the league leadership, Hibs then had a slump in form in the later part of the season. The team eventually secured a Europa League place via finishing fourth in the SPL by winning 2–0 on the final day at Tannadice. Hibs were eliminated from the Scottish Cup in a quarter final replay by Ross County and were knocked out of the Scottish League Cup in the third round by St Johnstone.

The 2013–14 season was Hibernian's fifteenth consecutive season in the top flight of the Scottish football league system, having been promoted from the Scottish First Division at the end of the 1998–99 season. Having lost the 2013 Scottish Cup Final to league champions Celtic, Hibs entered the 2013–14 UEFA Europa League, but suffered a Scottish record aggregate defeat against Swedish club Malmö in the second qualifying round. Hibs also competed in the 2013–14 Scottish League Cup but lost to Heart of Midlothian in the quarter-final at Easter Road. Days after that defeat, manager Pat Fenlon resigned and was replaced with Terry Butcher. Hibs were knocked out of the 2013–14 Scottish Cup in the fifth round by Raith Rovers. A long winless run to finish the 2013–14 Scottish Premiership season meant that Hibs finished in 11th place, and they were relegated after a playoff against Hamilton Academical.
