69+23 innings pitched. [4] In 2022, he played collegiate summer baseball with the Falmouth Commodores of the Cape Cod Baseball League. [5] As a sophomore in 2023, he helped lead Wake Forest to the College World Series. [6] [7] He finished the season 11–2 with a 2.81 ERA and 140 strikeouts in 13 over 18 games. He was named a first team All-American by Baseball America and the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA).

Hartle entered his junior season in 2024 as a top prospect for the 2024 Major League Baseball draft. [8]

Professional career

Pittsburgh Pirates

The Pittsburgh Pirates selected Hartle in the third round, with the 83rd overall selection, of the 2024 Major League Baseball draft. [9] On July 23, 2024, Hartle signed with Pittsburgh on an underslot contract worth $850,000. [10] He made his professional debut with the Single–A Bradenton Marauders.

Cleveland Guardians

On December 10, 2024, Hartle, alongside Michael Kennedy and Luis Ortiz, was traded to the Cleveland Guardians in exchange for Spencer Horwitz. [11]
