Joshua Lamberson (born September 1, 1982) is an American college football coach and former player. He is the head football coach for the University of Central Missouri, a position he has held since 2022. He was previously the assistant head football coach and offensive coordinator at Abilene Christian University in Abilene, Texas. Prior to taking this position on December 21, 2016, he served as the head football coach at the University of Nebraska at Kearney in Kearney, Nebraska. [1] Lamberson was announced as the new head coach on December 14, 2014, replacing Darrell Morris. [2] Before becoming head coach at UNK, Lamberson served as the offensive coordinator at Central Missouri from 2010 to 2014. He served as a graduate assistant at Northwest Missouri State from 2006 to 2008, and as the offensive coordinator and recruiting coach at Southeastern Oklahoma State from 2008 to 2010. [3]

Playing career

Lamberson was an All-American quarterback for Northwest Missouri State, leading the Bearcats to the National Championship game in 2005. Lamberson was also the ESPN Academic All-American Football National Player of the Year in 2005 as a senior, as well as the Disney Sportsman of the Year. Lamberson won the Ken B. Jones Award as the MIAA's top male student-athlete in 2005, as well. [4]

Personal life

Lamberson and his wife, his wife, Mandy, have a two-year-old daughter, Kiya and a newborn son, Ace. [5]

Kenneth Paul Karcher is an American high school football coach and former quarterback. He is the offensive coordinator for Albertville High School, a position he has held since 2023. He was the head football coach for Liberty University from 2000 to 2005 and East Central Community College from 2013 to 2022. He played college football for Tulane and professionally for the Denver Broncos, New Orleans Saints, and Kansas City Chiefs of the National Football League (NFL). Previously, Mumme served as the head football coach at Iowa Wesleyan College, Valdosta State University, the University of Kentucky, Southeastern Louisiana University, New Mexico State University, McMurry University, and Belhaven University. Mumme is known for being one of the founders of the air raid offense.

He was the head coach for the Nebraska Cornhuskers from 2018 to 2022, and previously served as UCF's head coach from 2016 to 2017. Born in Lincoln, Nebraska, Frost played college football as a quarterback for the Stanford Cardinal and the Cornhuskers, the latter of which he led to a shared national championship in 1997. Frost has coached Heisman winner Marcus Mariota and Heisman candidate McKenzie Milton. He played six years in the NFL as a defensive back.

Chris Thomsen is an American college football coach. He is the deputy head coach and tight ends coach for Florida State University, positons he has held since 2020. Thomsen was the head coach of the Wildcats football program at Abilene Christian University (ACU), from 2005 through 2011. Thomsen also served as the interim head football coach at Texas Tech University for one game in 2012, the Meineke Car Care Bowl of Texas.

Scott Bostwick was an American football player and coach. He served as the defensive coordinator at Northwest Missouri State University from 1994 to 2010 under head coach Mel Tjeerdsma, during which time the Bearcats captured three NCAA Division II Football Championships, in 1998, 1999, and 2009. In 2007, Bostwick was named the AFCA Division II Assistant Coach of the Year in 2007. He succeeded Tjeerdsma as head coach following the 2010 season, but died of a heart attack the following June.

Jim Svoboda is an American football coach and former player. He most recently served as the quarterbacks coach at Tulane University for the 2022 season, where the team went 12-2 and won the 2023 Cotton Bowl Classic (January). Svoboda served as the head football coach at Nebraska Wesleyan University (NWU) from 1987 to 1993 and the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, Missouri from 2010 to 2021. While at Nebraska Wesleyan, Svoboda won three Great Plains Athletic Conference championships (1988–1990), and advanced to the NAIA playoffs three times between 1988 and 1991. After coaching at NWU, Svoboda was the offensive coordinator at Northwest Missouri State University for 10 seasons, three of which the team won the NCAA Division II Football Championship. While serving as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at UCLA, Svoboda was a 2005 finalist for the Broyles Award, given annually to the nation's top college football assistant coach.

The 2016 Nebraska–Kearney Lopers football team represented the University of Nebraska at Kearney in the 2016 NCAA Division II football season. The Lopers played their home games on Foster Field in Ron & Carol Cope Stadium in Kearney, Nebraska, as they have done since 1939. 2016 was the 111th season in school history. The Lopers were led by second-year head coach, Josh Lamberson. Nebraska–Kearney has been a member of the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association since 2012.

Kevin Lofton is an American college basketball coach and the current head coach of the University of Nebraska at Kearney men's basketball team. Lofton was named the Lopers’ head coach on March 24, 2015, after spending the previous 10 seasons as co-head coach alongside longtime UNK coach Tom Kropp. Lofton has coached at UNK since 1995, getting his start as a graduate assistant. In his first year as UNK's head coach, he led the Lopers to their first NCAA Tournament in nine years.

Andrew Avalos is an American college football coach and former player. He is the defensive coordinator for Texas Christian University. He previously worked as an assistant at schools including Boise State University and Oregon before returning to Boise State as head coach.

Moses Harper is an American college football coach. He is the head football coach for Lincoln University, a position he has held since 2024. He also coached for Central Methodist, Highland Community College (KS), Fort Scott Community College, Coahoma Community College, William Jewell, Missouri Western, and Nebraska–Kearney. He played college football for Central Methodist and professionally for the Wichita Wild of the Indoor Football League (IFL) as a wide receiver.
