Josh Newman is an American basketball coach who is currently an assistant coach for the Western Kentucky University men's basketball team. Newman served as the interim head coach of the Pacific Tigers men's basketball team during the 2024 West Coast Conference men's basketball tournament.
After various stints as an assistant coach, Newman served as the head coach for the University of Arkansas–Fort Smith for twelve years, accumulating a record of 238–121 and leading the Lions to four NCAA Division II Tournament appearances. [1] Newman then served as the head coach at the University of Texas Permian Basin for three seasons, finishing with a 39–42 overall record before resigning. [2] [3]
On March 4, 2024, Newman was named the interim head coach for the Tigers, following the firing of Leonard Perry. [4]
On May 6, 2024, Newman was hired as an assistant coach at Western Kentucky University under Hank Plona. [5]

Orlando Henry "Tubby" Smith is an American college basketball coach who last coached the men's basketball team at High Point University, his alma mater. Smith previously served in the same role at the University of Tulsa, the University of Georgia, the University of Kentucky, the University of Minnesota, Texas Tech University, and the University of Memphis. With Kentucky, he coached the Wildcats to the 1998 NCAA championship.
Bruce Alan Pearl is an American college basketball coach who is currently the head coach of the Auburn Tigers men's basketball team. He previously served in the same position for Tennessee, Milwaukee, and Southern Indiana. Max Good is an American basketball coach. He is the former head men's basketball coach at Loyola Marymount University. He was promoted from his assistant's job to replace Bill Bayno, who resigned due to illness after three games into the 2008–09 season, his first and only season with the Lions. Good also replaced Bayno for the 2000–01 season at UNLV after Bayno was dismissed as head coach.
The 2015–16 Pacific Tigers men's basketball team represented the University of the Pacific during the 2015–16 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. They played their home games at the Alex G. Spanos Center and were members of the West Coast Conference. The Tigers were led by third-year head coach Ron Verlin. On December 12, 2015, Verlin was suspended indefinitely amid an NCAA investigation. Assistant coach Mike Burns was named the interim head coach for the remainder of the season. The Tigers also self-imposed a postseason ban for 2016 which included the WCC Tournament. They finished the season 8–20, 6–12 in WCC play to finish in a three-way tie for seventh place
Teresa Lawrence Phillips was the athletic director at Tennessee State University, a post she had held since 2001. She was one of the few female athletic directors at a school that sponsors football. She was also the head women's basketball coach at TSU and Fisk University, and led the Tiger men for one game in 2003—becoming the first woman to coach a Division I men's basketball team.

They played their home games at the Corbett Sports Center and were members of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. They finished the season 10–22, 7–9 record in MEAC play to finish in a three-way tie for sixth place. They lost to Coppin State in the first round of the MEAC tournament.
John Brannen is an American basketball coach, mostly recently serving as a program analyst and senior special assistant for the University of Dayton Flyers. Brannen previously spent two seasons as the men's basketball coach of the University of Cincinnati Bearcats and four seasons as the head coach for the Northern Kentucky University Norse. Before that he spent nine seasons as an assistant coach to Anthony Grant at both VCU and Alabama. For the Tide's two games in the 2015 National Invitation Tournament, Brannen served as interim head coach.

They finished the season 8–21, 4–14 in OVC play to finish in last place. They failed to qualify for the OVC tournament.
