His 1995 memoir of childhood abuse, A Child Called "It": One Child's Courage to Survive, was listed on The New York Times Best Seller list for several years, and in 5 years had sold at least 1.6 million copies. The book brought Pelzer fame, and has also been a source of controversy, with accusations of several events being fabricated coming from both family members and journalists.

The final ten episodes premiered on June 20, 2018, and concluded on July 25, 2018. A series finale movie was initially announced with the cancellation, but was scrapped on August 24, 2018. Young & Hungry received generally mixed reviews from critics.

Good Trouble is an American drama television series created by Joanna Johnson, Bradley Bredeweg and Peter Paige for Freeform. A continuation of the Freeform series The Fosters, it follows Callie Adams Foster and Mariana Adams Foster after they move out of the family home and into a communal living space in Los Angeles, while embarking on the next phase of their lives. A supporting ensemble cast includes Sherry Cola, Tommy Martinez, Roger Bart, Emma Hunton, Josh Pence, Beau Mirchoff, Bryan Craig, Priscilla Quintana and Booboo Stewart.
