José Alejandro de León Gómez (born 2 March 2004) is a professional footballer who plays as a winger for Alavés B. Born in Spain, he represents the Dominican Republic internationally. [2]

Career

De León joined the youth academy of Alavés in 2019. In 2021, he started playing with Alavés B. [3] On 19 May 2022, de León signed a professional contract with Alavés until 2025. He made his senior and professional debut with the senior Alavés side in a 2–0 Copa del Rey loss to Athletic Bilbao on 16 January 2024. [4]

International career

Born in Spain, de León is of Dominican descent. He was called up to the Spain U16s in February 2020. [5] He was called up to the Spain U18s for a set of friendlies in February 2022. [3] In September 2022, he was called up to the Dominican Republic U20s, but had to pull out due to an ankle sprain during training. [6] In March 2024, he was called up to the Dominican Republic national under-23 team. [7]
