Jovane Silva Guissone (born 11 March 1983) is a Paralympic épée and foil fencer from Brazil. He competed at the 2012 and 2016 Paralympics and won a gold medal in the individual épée in 2012. [2]

Guissone lost control of his legs after being shot in 2004. In 2008 he took up wheelchair fencing, and in 2014 was named Top Paralympic Performer of the Year at the 2014 Brazilian Paralympic Awards in Copacabana. Guissone is married and has a son. [1]

Alison Yu Chui-yee is a wheelchair fencer from Hong Kong. When she was 11 years old, she had bone cancer, leading to the amputation of her left leg. She began as a swimmer but switched to fencing at the age of 17. At the 2004 Summer Paralympics, she won four gold medals in both the individual and team events of épée and foil. She was the first athlete to win four gold medals in fencing in category A in 2004. At the 2008 Summer Paralympics, she represented Hong Kong again, but since the team matches were canceled, she only won one gold and one silver medal in the individual events.

The Rio 2016 Organising Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Games was the organizing committee for the 2016 Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games in Brazil. It was also known as the Rio 2016 Organising Committee or simply Rio 2016.
