Juan David Yrausquin (born 1 January 1980) [1] is an Aruban politician. He was Minister Plenipotentiary of Aruba between 17 November 2016 and 20 November 2017. He was Minister of Finance between 2013 and 2014 in the second Mike Eman cabinet.
In June 2009 Yrausquin joined the Aruban People's Party and in the September 2009 general elections he obtained a seat in the Estates of Aruba on the basis of preferential votes,while he was candidate number 29 on the list. [1] On 30 October 2013 Yrausquin was named as Finance Minister in the second Mike Eman cabinet. [2] [3] On 5 July 2014 he resigned,citing "incredible abuse of power by the Dutch government in collaboration with the Governor (Fredis Refunjol)". [4] The case related to the drafting of the 2014 government budget of Aruba. [4] Yrausquin was succeeded by Angel Bermudez. [5]
In November 2016 Yrausquin was announced as the new Minister Plenipotentiary of Aruba,succeeding Alfonso Boekhoudt. Yrausquin also announced to return to the Aruban People's Party,which he had left in 2014. [6] [7] He took office on 17 November. [8] Yrausquin was succeeded by Guillfred Besaril on 20 November 2017. Gilberto François "Betico" Croes was an Aruban political activist who was a proponent for Aruba's separation from the Netherlands Antilles. This eventually occurred in 1986,but following a car accident on 31 December 1985,Croes lapsed into a coma and never became conscious to see his accomplishment. He is best remembered as "Libertador" (liberator) and as the father of the Aruban people.
The Aruban People's Party is a Christian-democratic political party in Aruba founded in 1942. AVP is an acronym for the Dutch name of the party.
Same-sex marriage is legal in Aruba and Curaçao,two constituent countries of the Kingdom of the Netherlands,in accordance with a ruling from the Supreme Court of the Netherlands issued on 12 July 2024. In September 2021,a lower court in Curaçao ruled that preventing same-sex couples from marrying violates the equality provisions of the Constitution of Curaçao,but left the decision of whether to legalise same-sex marriage up to the Parliament. In December 2022,the Joint Court of Justice of Aruba,Curaçao,Sint Maarten,and of Bonaire,Sint Eustatius and Saba ruled on appeal that Aruba's and Curaçao's same-sex marriage bans were unconstitutional. The court order was set to go into effect on 7 March 2023 if not appealed to the Supreme Court;however,the governments of both Curaçao and Aruba subsequently appealed. On 12 July 2024,the Supreme Court upheld the lower court ruling,effectively legalizing same-sex marriage in Aruba and Curaçao with immediate effect.
Democratic Network is a progressive,green political party in Aruba. Since the 2017 Aruban general election it has one seat in the Estates of Aruba and is part of the government coalition under Prime Minister Evelyn Wever-Croes.
Francisco Walfrido "Frido" Croes was an Aruban politician and schoolteacher who held the office of Minister Plenipotentiary of Aruba from 2005 to 2009. Prior to that,he served as a member of the Estates of Aruba from 1989 to 1994,and as its President from 2001 to 2004. He also served as Minister of Education from 2004 to 2005.
Michiel Godfried "Mike" Eman is an Aruban politician who served as the 3rd Prime Minister of Aruba from 2009 to 2017. His political career began in 2001,but Eman has been involved in politics in one way or another since his childhood. His grandfather,father and brother were all prominent politicians in their lifetimes,with Henny Eman having preceded him in office (twice) as Prime Minister,including as the first to hold the office after Aruba's status aparte in 1986.

The current Minister Plenipotentiary of Curaçao is Carlson Manuel. The Minister Plenipotentiary and his cabinet are seated in the "Curaçaohuis" in The Hague.

Juan Alfonso Boekhoudt is an Aruban politician serving as the fourth governor of Aruba since 2017. He previously served as minister plenipotentiary from 14 November 2013 to 17 November 2016.
Evelyna Christina "Evelyn" Wever-Croes is an Aruban politician and current Prime Minister of Aruba,serving since November 2017. She is the first woman to hold this office. She is a member of the People's Electoral Movement (MEP) and has been the leader of the party since 2011.
Angel Roald Bermudez is an Aruban politician. He served as Minister of Transport and Communication between 1987 and 1989. From 2011 to 2014,he was director of the Tax and Customs Administration of the Caribbean Netherlands. Bermudez served as Minister of Finance between 28 July 2014 and 17 November 2017.
Eunice M.D. Eisden is a Curaçaoan politician. She was Minister Plenipotentiary of Curaçao between 23 December 2016 and 13 April 2017. She was succeeded by Leendert Rojer.
Pauldrick François Teodoric"Paul"Croes is a former Aruban politician who served as the Minister of Social Affairs,Youth and Labor in the Second Eman Cabinet from 2013 to 2017. As a member of the Aruban People's Party,he was a member of the Parliament of Aruba between 2009 and 2013.
Leendert A.B. Rojer is a Curaçaoan politician. He was Minister Plenipotentiary of Curaçao between 13 April 2017 and 1 June 2017. The coalition parties of the Gilmar Pisas cabinet asked him to take care of the position until a new government was formed after the 2017 Curaçao general election. He was succeeded by Anthony Begina on 1 June 2017.
Guillfred Francis Besaril is an Aruban politician of the People's Electoral Movement. He was Minister Plenipotentiary of Aruba between 20 November 2017 and 10 June 2022. He previously served in the Estates of Aruba between 2013 and November 2017,the last month as president.

The first Wever-Croes cabinet was the cabinet of Aruba from 17 November 2017 to 20 September 2021. It was formed by a coalition government of the political parties People's Electoral Movement (MEP),Proud and Respected People (POR) and Democratic Network (RED),and was led by Prime Minister Evelyn Wever-Croes. It was the country's first coalition government in sixteen years and the first cabinet to be headed by a woman.

After 10 October 2010,he had held this position several times. Before that,he was minister of the Netherlands Antilles in the first and second de Jongh-Elhage cabinets.
Juan Edberto"Ady"Thijsen is an Aruban politician. He has served as Minister Plenipotentiary of Aruba since 2022 and Permanent Representative of Aruba to the European Union since December 2021. He had been Deputy Minister Plenipotentiary from 2021. Thijsen was member of the Parliament of Aruba for the People's Electoral Movement between 2005 and 2021,and served as its President between 2017 and 2021.
