A veil abruptly descends over the busy Shibuya area amid the bustling Halloween crowds, trapping countless civilians inside. Satoru Gojo, the strongest Jujutsu Sorcerer, steps into the chaos. But lying in wait are Curse Users and Spirits scheming to seal him away.
Yuji Itadori, accompanied by his classmates and other top-tier Jujutsu Sorcerers, enters the fray in an unprecedented clash of Curses — the Shibuya Incident.
In the aftermath, ten colonies across Japan are transformed into dens of Curses in a plan orchestrated by Kenjaku, the most wicked Curse User in history. As the deadly Culling Game starts, Special Grade Sorcerer and fellow student Yuta Okkotsu is assigned to carry out Yuji's execution for his perceived crimes. [7]
At first, the film follows the events of the Shibuya incident and the final episode of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 where the orders from the Higher-ups and Yuta Okkotsu’s arrival to the events are then revealed. This point marks the end of the Shibuya incident section of the film.
Then, Yuji Itadori is shown exorcising cursed spirits in the aftermath of the Shibuya Incident, before being intercepted by Okkotsu. Meanwhile, at the Zenin Clan's headquarters, the late Naobito Zenin's will is shared with key members of the clan, including Naobito's misogynistic son, Naoya. An arrangement between Gojo and Toji Fushiguro places his son, Megumi as the head of the clan. An infuriated Naoya goes to hunt Megumi and Yuji to claim his spot as clan head.
Before the events of the section's opening, Yuji discusses his place in Jujutsu society with Choso, who forgives Yuji for the murder of his brothers, Eso and Kechizu. They leave to exorcise as many cursed spirits as possible, before encountering Noaya. Before their fight begins, Yuta creepily arrives onto the scene. He allies with Noaya, and chases Yuji throughout the city. Yuji surprises Yuta with his strength and speed, as a result, Yuta is forced to use his cursed spirit partner, Rika to subdue and execute him. Meanwhile, Choso and Naoya engage in a fight, and Naoya is defeated by Choso's poisonous blood. Yuta arrives and knocks him out, and requests Naoya to inform the higher-ups about Yuji's death in exchange for healing.
In a flashback, Yuji's grandfather, Wasuke Itadori warns his son, Jin about his mysteriously resurrected wife, Kaori, who walks in and is revealed to have had stitches on her forehead. Yuji wakes up in front of Yuta, who reveals that his death was staged by him as per Gojo's request to protect Yuji. Megumi arrives to ask Yuji to help him save his step-sister, Tsumiki, who has been ensnared in a "Culling Game" by Kenjaku, and tells Yuji that he'll bear the blame for Sukuna's actions with him. They reunite with Sorcerers Yuki Tsukumo and Maki Zenin to visit the Tombs of the Star Corridor to meet Tengen, an immortal Sorcerer who can provide information on the Culling Game.
