Jujutsu Kaisen is an anime television series based on Gege Akutami's manga series of the same name. The anime series was announced in the 52nd issue of Weekly Shōnen Jump published in November 2019. [1]

After the second season's finale, a sequel covering the Culling Game story arc was announced. [2] [3] In August 2025, it was announced that the sequel would be a third season, titled The Culling Game Part 1 (死滅回游 前編, Shimetsu Kaiyū Zenpen), set to premiere in January 2026. Shōta Goshozono is set to direct the season, with Yosuke Yajima and Hiromi Niwa returning as character designers and Yoshimasa Terui returning as the composer. [4] It is set to adapt the manga's "Itadori's Extermination Arc", "Perfect Preparation Arc" and "Culling Game Arc" story arcs. [5] [2] The plot follows the Jujutsu sorcerers entering the Culling Game, [6] [7] with their main intention of fighting off Kenjaku, [8] and freeing Satoru Gojo from the Prison Realm. [9] A compilation film of the Shibuya Incident along the first two episodes of The Culling Game Part 1 is set to premiere in Japanese theaters on November 7, 2025. [4]

The season is licensed by Crunchyroll for streaming outside of Asia. [4]
