Jujutsu Kaisen is an anime television series based on Gege Akutami's manga series of the same name. The anime series was announced in the 52nd issue of Weekly Shōnen Jump published in November 2019. [1]

Following the ending of season two on December 28, 2023, [2] the production for a third season was announced, and was set to be released in 2026, following a delay proposed by MAPPA. [3] Shōta Goshozono is credited as the director of the season. [4] It is expected to adapt the manga's "Itadori's Extermination Arc", "Perfect Preparation Arc" and "Culling Game Arc" story arcs. [5] [6] The plot following the Jujutsu sorcerers entering the Culling Game, [7] [8] with their main intention of fighting off Kenjaku, [9] and freeing Satoru Gojo from the Prison Realm. [10] Yuta Okkotsu, the main protagonist in Gege Akutami's manga Jujutsu Kaisen 0 , is expected to return. Additionally, a new JJK special edition movie is also slated for premiere on November 7, 2025, which includes a recap of the Shibuya arc and the first two episodes of season 3. [11]
