Julian Moser (born 1987) is a German cinematographer, photographer [1] and film producer who specializes in music videos and documentary film work.

Biography

Julian Moser grew up near the city of Würzburg. He started his career as an assistant for the awarded literary magazine Druckfrisch on ARD [2] and worked with Bad Banks writer Oliver Kienle. [3]

As director of photography he has collaborated with musicians [4] such as Moritz von Oswald [5] , Tangerine Dream, [6] [7] Nine Inch Nails member Alessandro Cortini, [8] Hainbach [9] and singer Emel Mathlouti, [10] known for Kelmti Horra , which became an anthem for the Arab Spring. He worked for CNN´s short documentary platform Great Big Story, ZDF and Arte. [11] [12]

In 2017 he and his brother Felix Moser founded Moserfilm, a visual production project, based in Berlin. Their music videos and documentaries were awarded and selected to Ars Electronica Festival , Boddinale , Portland Unknown Film Festival and Backup Festival Weimar. [13] [14] [15]

His documentary feature The One Who Runs Away Is The Ghost was selected to the International Competition at International Documentary Festival Amsterdam 2021. [16] Before that, the project won the Grenzgänger fellowship [17] from Robert Bosch Stiftung 2018 and Docs in Progress at Visions du Réel Film Festival 2020. [18]

Tangerine Dream is a German electronic music band founded in 1967 by Edgar Froese. The group has seen many personnel changes over the years, with Froese the only constant member until his death in January 2015. The best-known lineup of the group was its mid-1970s trio of Froese, Christopher Franke, and Peter Baumann. In 1979, Johannes Schmoelling replaced Baumann until his own departure in 1985. He has become known internationally for his Ambient recordings and experimental music techniques on his YouTube channel. Pitchfork magazine described Hainbach’s channel as "a treasure trove of clips with titles like How to Make Music With a Vintage Piano Tuner and Playing Live With Nuclear Instruments and Unknown Synths."

Monika Borgmann-Slim is a German–Lebanese journalist, award-winning documentary filmmaker, and archivist. She is an activist against what she describes as Lebanon's culture of impunity and Vergangenheitsbewältigung, countering official amnesia about the Lebanese Civil War (1975–1990). She is the widow of the Lebanese filmmaker, archivist and activist Lokman Slim, who was assassinated in 2021.
