Julian Troy is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer who played for the Eastern Suburbs Roosters later renamed Sydney Roosters and the Parramatta Eels as a prop.
Troy made his debut for Eastern Suburbs in Round 21 of the 1996 season against the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks. Troy featured in the 1996 finals series for Easts but the club bowed out in straight sets losing both games. In 1998, Troy joined Parramatta and played one season with them featuring in nine games. After his playing career finished, Troy became a practicing lawyer and then moved to Darwin. In 2012, Troy was given a 18-month suspended jail sentence after bashing a patron at a pub in Darwin. It was reported that Troy was asked by staff not to drink outside the venue. An argument then broke out between Troy and another man, the man punched Troy who hit him back causing the person to hit their head on the pavement. Troy then knelt over the victim and punched him four times in the face before kicking him in the head. The man suffered a fractured cheek bone, broken nose, lost four teeth and needed stitches, as well as bone and skin grafts. It was reported that Troy's lawyer told the Northern Territory Supreme Court that it was unlikely Troy would be able to practice law again after the incident. [3] [4]
The Sydney Roosters is an Australian professional rugby league football club based in the Eastern Suburbs (Sydney). The club competes in the National Rugby League (NRL) competition and is one of the oldest and most successful. The Roosters have won fifteen New South Wales Rugby League (NSWRL) and National Rugby League titles, and several other competitions. Founded as the Eastern Suburbs District Rugby League Football Club (ESDRLFC), it is the only club to have played in each and every season at the elite level, and since the 1970s has often been dubbed the glamour club of the league. The Roosters have won more minor premierships than any other club. The Sydney Roosters is one of only two clubs to finish runner-up in its inaugural season. Currently coached by Trent Robinson and captained by Boyd Cordner, the Roosters play home games at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

The Parramatta District Rugby League Football Club was formed in 1947, and their home ground was Parramatta Stadium. As of 2019, Parramatta's home ground stadium has been rebuilt and they now play as the majority tenants at Bankwest Stadium, which sits on the same site that was once Parramatta Stadium.
Arthur Henry "Artie" Beetson OAM was an Australian rugby league footballer and coach. He represented Australia, New South Wales and Queensland all between 1964 to 1981. His main position was at prop. Beetson became the first Indigenous Australian to captain Australia in any sport and is frequently cited as the best post-war forward in Australian rugby league history. He also had an extensive coaching career, spanning the 1970s to the 1990s, coaching Australia, Queensland, Eastern Suburbs, Redcliffe Dolphins and the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks.

The 1976 New South Wales Rugby Football League premiership was the 69th season of Sydney's professional rugby league football competition, Australia's first. Twelve teams, including six of 1908's foundation clubs and another six from around Sydney, competed for the J. J. Giltinan Shield and WD & HO Wills Cup during the season, which culminated in a grand final between the Manly-Warringah and Parramatta clubs. NSWRFL teams also competed for the 1976 Amco Cup.
