Jump Around Carson was incorporated in 2005 to serve the unmet transit needs in Carson City. Originally, the acronym JAC had two meanings at launch. The first one was Jump Around Carson, while the second name was Jump Around the Counties. [5] Due to low ridership, the Carson City Regional Transportation Commission reintroduced the transit service 2006 due to premature service launch, such as not marking bus stops and marketing the transit system. In 2023, the Carson City Regional Transportation Commission commissioned a study to improve transit reliability by constructing a transit center to replace the downtown transfer center due to overcrowding during peak times. [7]
Also in 2023, Carson City Regional Transportation Commission, approved plans to replace its JAC transit fleet with zero emissions buses in order to reduce greenhouse gas emissions within Carson City. [8]
Carson City is an independent city and the capital of the U.S. state of Nevada. As of the 2020 census, the population was 58,639, making it the 6th most populous city in the state. The majority of the city's population lives in Eagle Valley, on the eastern edge of the Carson Range, a branch of the Sierra Nevada, about 30 miles (50 km) south of Reno. The city is named after the mountain man Kit Carson. The town began as a stopover for California-bound immigrants, but developed into a city with the Comstock Lode, a silver strike in the mountains to the northeast. The city has served as Nevada's capital since statehood in 1864; for much of its history it was a hub for the Virginia and Truckee Railroad, although the tracks were removed in 1950.

Arlington Transit (ART) is a bus transit system that operates in Arlington County, Virginia, and is managed by the county government. The bus system provides service within Arlington County, and connects to Metrobus, nearby Metrorail stations, Virginia Railway Express, and other local bus systems. Most ART routes serve to connect county neighborhoods to local Metrorail stations, as well as the Shirlington Bus Station. The largest transit operator within San Bernardino County, it serves the San Bernardino Valley. The agency was established in 1976 through a joint powers agreement and today includes 15 cities and portions of the unincorporated areas of San Bernardino County. In addition to the southwestern corner of San Bernardino County, Omnitrans provides service to parts of Riverside and Los Angeles Counties. Omnitrans currently carries about 11 million passengers per year. Omnitrans currently operates fixed route bus service, bus rapid transit and a paratransit service for the disabled, “Access.” Omnitrans operates throughout the urbanized area of southwestern San Bernardino County: south of the San Bernardino Mountains, from Upland, Montclair, and Chino in the west to Redlands, California and Yucaipa in the east. The Omnitrans service area covers approximately 480 square miles (1,200 km2).
Long Beach Transit (LBT) is a municipal transit company providing fixed and flexible bus transit services in Long Beach, California, United States, in other communities in south and southeast Los Angeles County, and northwestern Orange County. Long Beach Transit also operates the Passport shuttle, Aquabus, and Aqualink. The service, while operated on behalf of the City of Long Beach, is not operated directly by the city, but by a separate nonprofit corporation, the Long Beach Public Transportation Company, operated for that purpose. In 2022, the system had a ridership of 17,767,700, or about 57,100 per weekday as of the third quarter of 2023.
Toledo Area Regional Transit Authority (TARTA) is a public transit agency that has been operating in the Toledo area of Ohio since 1971. Prior to March 28, 2020, in which service was suspended amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the Carson Circuit provided 7 routes around the City of Carson, with bus connections to Metro, Torrance Transit, Long Beach Transit, and GTrans.
