Justin Blanchet (born 25 August 1993 in Canada) [1] is a former Canadian rugby union player who played for the Exeter Chiefs and Bedford Blues. His playing position was flanker. He retired following his fourth concussion sustained in a warm-up match in the lead up to the 2019 Rugby World Cup. [2] Previously, he had earned 7 caps for the Canada national team, making his debut against Brazil in the 2019 Americas Rugby Championship. [3] His performances in the rest of the tournament saw him named in the Canada squad for the 2019 Rugby World Cup, [4] however he withdrew from the squad following his concussion on 10 September 2019, following the warm-up match against the United States. The Canada men's national rugby union team represents the Canada in men's international rugby union competitions. They are overseen by Rugby Canada the governing body of rugby union in Canada.
The Uruguay national rugby union team, nicknamed Los Teros, represents the Uruguayan Rugby Union in men's international rugby union. He retired from rugby in 2023.

The Brazil women's national rugby league team represent Brazil in international rugby league football competitions. They were announced to play in the 2021 Women's Rugby League World Cup in July 2019. Former Super League player Matt Gardner, of Brazilian descent, was announced as head coach in November 2019. However, due to Covid restrictions and personal circumstance, Gardner was unable to fulfil his duties as head coach and was replaced by Paul Grundy in November 2020.
The 2019 Rugby World Cup was an international rugby union tournament which was held in Japan from 20 September until 2 November 2019. Twenty national teams competed, and each brought a 31-man squad containing no regulated number of players per-position to the tournament. The tournament was administered by World Rugby, to whom each team submitted their finalised squad by 8 September 2019. A player may be replaced for medical or compassionate reasons, but would be unable to return to the squad. Any replacement player has an enforced stand-down period of 48 hours before they can take the field.
