The Geelong Football Club, nicknamed the Cats, is a professional Australian rules football club based in Geelong, Victoria, Australia. The club competes in the Australian Football League (AFL), the sport's premier competition. The club formed in 1859, making it the second-oldest AFL side after Melbourne and one of the oldest football clubs in the world.

Brian Francis Peake OAM is a former Australian rules footballer who played for East Fremantle and Perth in the West Australian Football League (WAFL), and Geelong in the Victorian Football League (VFL). He also played State of Origin football for Western Australia from 1978 to 1987, captaining the side in 1979, 1980, 1986 and 1987. Peake was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia in 1990 and was inducted into the West Australian Football Hall of Fame in 2004, and into the Australian Football Hall of Fame in 2013.

He took part in each of Hawthorn's three consecutive Grand Final victories from 2013 to 2015. He won his fourth premiership with Geelong in 2022 and was awarded the Norm Smith Medal as the game's best player. Smith retired from AFL at the conclusion of the 2023 AFL season, his third year at Geelong.
Callum Sinclair is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Sydney Swans and West Coast Eagles in the Australian Football League (AFL). He was recruited by the West Coast Eagles with the 12th pick in the 2013 rookie draft. He made his debut in round 2, 2013, against Hawthorn at Patersons Stadium.
Christian Fagan is an Australian rules football coach and former player. He is currently the head coach of the Brisbane Lions in the Australian Football League (AFL), where he won the premiership in 2024. He spent his entire playing career in Tasmania, playing 263 senior games with Hobart, Sandy Bay, and Devonport. Before being appointed head coach of Brisbane in October 2016, Fagan had spent long periods as an assistant coach at Melbourne (1999–2007) and Hawthorn (2008–2016).
