Parmar was born in Duncan, British Columbia, Canada. He earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Victoria and later completed executive studies in private equity and venture capital at Harvard University. [1] [9]
He began his career in finance at the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce and later worked as an investment advisor at several Canadian firms. In 2015, Parmar founded Fortuna Investments, a private investment firm focused on early-stage companies in sectors such as energy, mining, and technology. [1] [2] [3] [8] [10]
