In 2013, Jylland RLFC was the first rugby league club founded in Jutland and the second after the Copenhagen RLFC was founded in Denmark.

Rugby league was introduced in Denmark in 2008, which led to the Denmark National Rugby League Team playing in international competitions.

Initially, Copenhagen's only competition was against Swedish teams, but the formation of a team in Jutland led to the first game to be played in June 2013 in Randers, Jutland.

The Southern Conference League is a British rugby league division in the Rugby Football League's tier 4. It is the highest level of amateur rugby league in the South of England and South Wales. It was one of the leagues that replaced Rugby League Conference. The competition was first played between 2012 and 2016, and was relaunched in 2019 after a two-year hiatus.

The Copenhagen Rugby League Football Club was the first rugby league club formed in Denmark.

The Nordic Cup is a rugby league tournament played annually between Denmark national rugby league team, Norway and Sweden. It was first played in 2011, in which Denmark claimed the trophy with victory over Norway at Gladsaxe Stadium in Greater Copenhagen. For the first three years, the tournament was acknowledged by the Rugby League European Federation (RLEF), but the games were not recognised as full internationals. In 2014, the fixtures were played in accordance with RLEF regulations and recognised as full internationals.

The Danish Rugby League Championship is the contest for the domestic championship in rugby league. As there are two clubs in Denmark, Copenhagen RLFC and Jutland RLFC, this competition is combined with the Danish State of Origin championship.

Hedensted IF Danish football club

Hedensted Idrætsforening is a Danish football club based in Hedensted. It was founded in 1928, and its first team competed in the Denmark Series, the fourth tier of the Danish football league system. The club is a part of the DBU Jutland regional association.
