The Copenhagen Rugby League Football Club was the first rugby league club formed in Denmark. [1]

The sport of rugby league was introduced in Denmark in 2008, which led to the Denmark national rugby league team playing in international competitions. The Danish team was initially successful, which led to the formation of the Copenhagen RLFC at the Black Swan in Copenhagen on March 2, 2013.

The club has entered into the Pan Scandinavian league, with Skane Crusaders and Kungsbacka Broncos, and will also have matches against teams representing Jutland RLFC and Sweden Barbarians, residential teams including players not eligible for the Sweden National Rugby League Team.

In 2017, Copenhagen RLFC entered into a formal partnership to promote the work of the Diabetesforeningen [The Diabetes Association].

Liverpool Stanley was a semi-professional rugby league club from Liverpool, England. It was renamed Liverpool City in 1951, but was otherwise unrelated to the original Liverpool club of the same name. The club's origins date back to 1880 when it was founded as Wigan Highfield. Although the club was best known for its years in Liverpool, the club relocated numerous times, and were known as London Highfield, Huyton, Runcorn Highfield, Highfield, and eventually Prescot Panthers throughout their existence before being eventually wound up in 1996.

Sport in Denmark is diverse. The national sport is running, but club sport is football with the most notable results being qualifying for the European Championships six times in a row (1984–2004) and winning the Championship in 1992. Other significant achievements include winning the Confederations Cup in 1995 and reaching the quarter final of the 1998 World Cup. Other popular sports include handball, esports, cycling, sailing sports, badminton, ice hockey, swimming, and recently also golf. A few youths also play basketball.

Mansfield Marksman was a rugby league team based at various times in Mansfield, Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Alfreton and ultimately Nottingham. The club changed its name to Nottingham City in 1989, and folded in 1994 a year after exiting the Rugby Football League.

Laois Panthers was a rugby league team from Laois, Ireland. The side played in the Irish Elite League, Ireland's top-tier rugby league competition.

The Nordic Cup is a rugby league tournament played annually between Denmark national rugby league team, Norway and Sweden. It was first played in 2011, in which Denmark claimed the trophy with victory over Norway at Gladsaxe Stadium in Greater Copenhagen. For the first three years, the tournament was acknowledged by the Rugby League European Federation (RLEF), but the games were not recognised as full internationals. In 2014, the fixtures were played in accordance with RLEF regulations and recognised as full internationals.
