Jyoti Khandelwal is an Indian politician who was elected mayor of Jaipur Municipal Corporation in 2009. [1] Jyoti joined Bharatiya Janata Party in October 2023. [2] [3]

In her tenure she has courted many controversies, [4] often sparring with opposition councillors. [5] [6] During her tenure as Mayor, she criticized the Congress led state government for sheltering "corrupt". [7]

In 2019, Khandelwal became the first woman candidate in 48 years to contest the Lok Sabha election from Jaipur. [8] According to her, she enjoys popular women support in Jaipur because of her active involvement with the women in social, cultural and religious events in the city. [9]

Bhairon Singh Shekhawat was an Indian politician who served as the 11th vice president of India. He served in that position from August 2002, when he was elected to a five-year term by the electoral college following the death of Krishan Kant, until he resigned on 21 July 2007, after losing the presidential election to Pratibha Patil. Bhairon Singh Shekhawat was a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party. He served as the Chief Minister of Rajasthan three times, from 1977 to 1980, 1990 to 1992 and 1993 to 1998. He represented several constituencies in Rajasthan Vidhan Sabha from 1952 to 2002. He was also awarded Padma Bhushan in the year 2003.

Jyoti Mirdha is an Indian politician. She was elected to the 15th Lok Sabha (2009-2014) from the Nagaur as a Congress party candidate. Mirdha joined Bharatiya Janata Party in September 2023.

Onkar Singh Lakhawat is an Indian lawyer, politician, writer, and a senior BJP leader from Rajasthan. He is a former Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha (1997–2000). He has served as the Chairman of Rajasthan Heritage Preservation and Promotion Authority. He was a Minister of State in the Second Raje ministry (2014-2019). He was also the Vice-President of the BJP in Rajasthan.

Shobha Rani Kushwaha is an Indian politician and a member of Rajasthan Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Dholpur Assembly constituency. She was elected from Dholpur constituency in 2017 bypolls and consecutively in 2018 Rajasthan Legislative Assembly elections, as a candidate of Bharatiya Janata Party. Her husband Banwari Lal Kushwaha preceded her as MLA from Dholpur constituency in 2013 Assembly elections. She was expelled from Bharatiya Janata Party after it was revealed that she had done cross voting in favour of Indian National Congress candidate in Rajya Sabha election from Rajasthan Legislative Assembly.
