K.D. Satyam (born 29 December 1977) is an Indian film writer and film director. [1] He wrote Gattu , a film that became a part of the list of India's Academy Awards nominations in 2012. [2] He has also written and directed Bollywood Diaries . The film was released on 26 February 2016. [3]

Early life

Satyam was born in Bhilai and graduated from Annamalai University in 2000. He then got a master's degree in Film Direction from Zee Institute of Media Arts [4] and created short-films like Colours of Cinema [5] and Hell or Heaven [6] before starting his career in Bollywood.

Career

Satyam started his Bollywood career as a Making Director for Fox , which was directed by Deepak Tijori and featured Sunny Deol and Arjun Rampal in lead roles. His directorial debut was Admissions Open [7] casting Anupam Kher and Ashish Vidyarthi with music by Amit Trivedi. After that, he wrote Gattu that was directed by Rajan Khosa and produced by the Children's Film Society of India. [8] His next film as writer and director is Bollywood Diaries with Raima Sen, Ashish Vidyarthi and Salim Diwan in title roles. [9]

His latest film, Going to America, was released by AMC theaters on 28 August 2015 and was distributed on Home Video/VOD by Sony Pictures. Gill received mixed reviews from critics with Atlas and Aeris praising the film but was panned by other critics.

Gattu is a 2012 Indian film written by K.D. Satyam and directed by Rajan Khosa.The film stars Mohammad Samad, Naresh Kumar, Zoya Arshad, Harshit Kaushik, Sarvasva Singh Pundir and Jayanta Das in leading roles and had its premiere on 14 November 2011 at the 17th International Children's Festival of India held in Hyderabad during 14 November 2011 and 20 November 2011. Gattu had its theatrical release in India on 20 April 2012.
