KIEC, formerly known as Kathmandu Infosys, is a private company that serves students intending to study abroad and assists individuals for migration purpose. Its primary services include academic and career counseling, migration service, and standardized and proficiency test preparation. [1] It is headquartered in Putalisadak Road, Kathmandu, [2] [3] in an area that has been referred to as the abroad education hub of the nation. Along with the head office, it has a total of sixteen branches in major economic hubs all over Nepal and two global office in Australia & Bangaldesh.

History

Kathmandu Infosys Educational Consultancy Pvt Ltd (generally known by its acronym KIEC) was founded by Rajendra Rijal on 19 September 2006. [1]

It started its Sydney office on 14 March 2017 [6] and its Melbourne office on 22 July 2018 [7]

Controversy

In 2019, KIEC, along with a number of educational consultancies, were pulled into controversy as hundreds of Nepali students were enrolled in Australian Institute of Business and Technology whose course accreditation was terminated by Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) on 19 February 2019. Miss Vibhaa 2020 pageant was the first edition of Miss Vibhaa by Umanga Creation Pvt. Ltd. held on 30 December 2020 at Kathmandu Marriott Hotel, organized to select the 4th Miss Universe Nepal titleholder. Uddhab Adhikari was designated Managing Director by the Umanga Creation Pvt. ltd. after it received the official licence from the Miss Universe organisation. The National Director and the first ever representative of Nepal in Miss Universe 2017, Nagma Shrestha crowned Anshika Sharma as the "Miss Vibhaa 2020- Miss Universe Nepal" to represent Nepal in Miss Universe 2020.

Miss Grand Nepal is an annual female beauty pageant in Nepal, that selects representatives to compete at Miss Grand International. The contest is organized as Miss Vibhaa by Umanga Creations, that owned the license since 2023. The reigning Miss Grand Nepal is Prema Lamgade of Bhairahawa, who was the winner of Miss Vibhaa 2024.
