Sevnica is a town on the left bank of the Sava River in central Slovenia. It is the seat of the Municipality of Sevnica. It is one of the three major settlements in the Lower Sava Valley. <span class="mw-page-title-main">Brezje, Sevnica</span> Place in Lower Carniola, Slovenia

Brezje is a small village in the Municipality of Sevnica in southeastern Slovenia. It lies on a small rise east of Krmelj and the village of Hinjce and west of the Mirna River. Until 2006, the area was part of the settlement of Goveji Dol. The village is part of the traditional region of Lower Carniola and is included in the Lower Sava Statistical Region. One of the two roads from Krmelj to the main road linking Mokronog and Sevnica runs through the settlement, in the valley south of the village core. A cattle trough stands on its right side at the crossroad leading from it into the village. It was built in the 1940s.

Milan Žurman was a Slovenian football player and manager. A forward, he spent majority of his career with Slovenian club Maribor, where he played between 1981 and 1989 and from 1996 to 1997, making 276 appearances and scoring 82 goals for the club across all competitions. He was also a member of another Slovenian club, Rudar Velenje, where he spent two seasons. Outside Slovenia, he only played for the Austrian lower league clubs. In addition to football, he also played futsal from 1984. Žurman died on 11 April 2024, at the age of 63.

Športno društvo Brezje Maribor or simply ŠD Brezje was a futsal club from Maribor, Slovenia. They won the Slovenian Futsal League two times, in 2016 and 2017.

The 2016–17 Slovenian Futsal League season was the 22nd edition of the Futsal League since its establishment in 1995. The regular season started on 23 September 2016 and concluded on 10 March 2017. The championship play-offs were played after the end of the regular season.

The 2016–17 Slovenian Futsal Cup was the 22nd edition of Slovenia's futsal knockout competition. Brezje Maribor were the defending champions, having won their first title in the 2015–16 edition. They successfully defended their title by defeating Bronx Škofije 6–2 in the final.
