Kaelan Joyce (born 20 August 1982), is an amateur boxer from the British Overseas Territory, Gibraltar. [1] He started his boxing career in January 2000 as a Middleweight and competed exclusively in Gibraltar at first, but then mostly abroad thereafter.
Kaelan was awarded a place at Southampton Solent University (UK) in September 2002, where he went on to earn an honours degree in a Computer Networking related subject. Whilst at University he trained at the Golden Ring ABC [2] (Southampton, UK) where he gained valuable experience and subsequently went on to win gold [3] at the BUSA (British Universities Sports Association) Championships, [4] thus becoming champion of his respective weight class. He remains the only Gibraltarian to date to accomplish such a feat.
Joyce started off as a brawler with limited boxing skills but with time developed into a decent boxer. Known for his aggressive style and sturdy defence, he improved considerably under the watchful eye of Ernest Victory (Head coach – Gibraltar Amateur Boxing Association).
Kaelan has sparred with several big names including Tom "Kong" Watson and former World Boxing Foundation (WBFo) Super Featherweight Champion Carl Greaves. [5] He has also fought and beaten renowned British Martial Artist, Jason "Daddy Cool" Ball in an amateur boxing bout that took place on 3 July 2008 at the Victoria Stadium, Gibraltar. [6]
Currently competing in the light heavyweight division (having moved up a weight class) Joyce lost his last bout on points, which took place on 17 April 2010 at the Don Principe Pabellon (Spain). The Spanish media had Joyce winning. [7]
Joyce appeared on Gibraltar's version of Dancing with the Stars called Let's Dance, [8] which was aired live on GBC Television for over six weeks. [9] He managed to get to the final [10] and finished in 3rd place. [11] This was partly due to the substantial number of public votes he received. [12] The show was a success and several thousand pounds were raised for the local charities. [13]
Although women have participated in boxing for almost as long as the sport has existed, female fights have been effectively outlawed for most of boxing's history until recently, with athletic commissioners refusing to sanction or issue licenses to women boxers, and most nations officially banning the sport. Reports of women entering the ring go back to the 18th century.
David Deron Haye is a British former professional boxer who competed between 2002 and 2018. He held multiple world championships in two weight classes, and was the first British boxer to reach the final of the World Amateur Boxing Championships, where he won a silver medal in 2001.
Ricardo López Nava is a Mexican former professional boxer who competed from 1985 to 2001. Armando Ramos was an American professional boxer and the former two-time WBC and WBA Lightweight Champion. He was born in Long Beach, California. Armando "Mando" Ramos was one of the most popular fighters in Southern California during the 1960s. Ramos was an outstanding amateur.
Maureen Anne Shea Carranza is an American professional boxer. She held the WBC interim female featherweight title in 2011 and the IFBA super bantamweight title from 2014 to 2015, and challenged once for the WBA female super featherweight title in 2009. She is known as the "Real Million Dollar Baby" because of her work as the main sparring partner for Hilary Swank in her preparation for the 2004 movie, Million Dollar Baby.

Anthony Osejua Ojo Ogogo is an English professional wrestler and former professional boxer signed to All Elite Wrestling (AEW). As a boxer, he competed from 2013 to 2016 as a professional, and won a bronze medal in the middleweight division at the 2012 Olympics as an amateur. In 2015, Ogogo participated in the 13th series of Strictly Come Dancing.
Kenny Omar Galarza Arocho is a professional boxer. He competes in the light welterweight division, and represented Puerto Rico at numerous events as an amateur. Galarza won seven national championships locally and earned several recognitions in international competition. These include: two gold medals at the Junior Olympics Invitational, silver at the 2005 Pan American Boxing Championships and bronze in the 2006 Central American and Caribbean Games. Prior to the 2007 Pan American Games, Galarza closed his amateur career, signing with Seminole Warriors Boxing. He debuted defeating Jesse Francisco on May 16, 2007. This victory marked the beginning of a knockout streak, which has lasted for thirteen contests. On September 18, 2009, Galarza won his first professional title, defeating Joshua Allotey to become the first interim light welterweight champion of the North American Boxing Organization. Amassing a perfect record and knockout ratio earned him inclusion in other sanctioning bodies, including the World Boxing Organization (11th), WBO Latino (7th), World Boxing Association's FEDECARIBE (6th) and World Boxing Foundation's International (10th) rankings.
The boxing tournaments at the 2012 Olympic Games in London were held from 28 July to 12 August at the ExCeL Exhibition Centre.
Abner Lloveras Hernández is a Spanish professional mixed martial artist in the lightweight division. Abner received a gold medal in the Spanish Olympic boxing tournament in 2010. He also competed on The Ultimate Fighter: Team McGregor vs. Team Faber.
Jonathan González Ortiz is a Puerto Rican professional boxer who has held the World Boxing Organization (WBO) junior flyweight title since 2021. As an amateur, González won gold medals at the 2008 Youth World Championships and the 2010 Central American and Caribbean Games, both at flyweight.

As of July 2020, he is ranked as the world's fifth best active bantamweight by The Ring, seventh by BoxRec, and eighth by the Transnational Boxing Rankings Board.
