The Kaiserslautern Zoo (German : Zoo Kaiserslautern, until 2003 Tierpark Siegelbach) is a zoo in the city of Kaiserslautern in Germany. The Zoo was founded on June 15, 1968, and is located in Kaiserslautern's Siegelbach neighbourhood. The zoo originally belonged to the town of Siegelbach which became part of the city in 1969. [3]

The Zoo is home to about 600 animals of over 100 species and currently covers 7 hectares (17.3 acres) It is planned to be developed to 16 hectares (39.5 acres) [3]

History of the Zoo

In 2003, ownership was transferred from the city to a private company.

In 2005, the new monkey house was opened and a show with birds of prey established.

In 2011, a farm with pet animals (Altgermanischen Frankenhof) was established, as well as a rehabilitation center for white storcks. [3]

Royal Burgers' Zoo is a 45-hectare (110-acre) zoo in Arnhem, Netherlands, and is one of the biggest zoos in the country. Bojnice Zoo

The Bojnice Zoo is a 42-hectare (100-acre) zoo near the town of Bojnice, Slovakia. It is the oldest of the Slovak zoos, being established in 1955. As of 2011, it had 414 species of animals, with a total of 2268 specimens, such as the African elephant, mountain zebras, bongos, golden takins, sable antelopes, Bornean orangutans, roloway guenons, scarlet ibis, Steller's sea eagles, brown bears, Persian leopards, Asiatic lions, red kangaroos, white-lipped deer, Mesopotamian fallow deer, Carpathian lynxes, blue monitor lizards, Fiji iguanas, radiated tortoises, azure poison frogs, macaws, bateleurs, greater kudus, Chapman's zebras and many more.

Frankfurt Zoological Garden

The Frankfurt Zoological Garden is the zoo of Frankfurt, Germany. It features over 4,500 animals of more than 510 species on more than 11 hectares. The zoo was founded in 1858 and is the second oldest zoo in Germany, after Berlin Zoological Garden. It lies in the eastern part of the Innenstadt. Bernhard Grzimek was director of the zoo after World War II from 1945 until 1974.

Ústí nad Labem Zoo

Ústí nad Labem Zoological Gardens is a zoo located on the edge of Krásné Březno, close to the centre of the city of Ústí nad Labem in the Czech Republic. The gardens cover an area of 26 ha, and lets visitors view rare and endangered species of animals such as orangutans, Somali donkeys, rhinoceroses, and Malaysian sun bears. Open throughout the year, the gardens host regular displays—the training of sea lions, a parade of elephants through the gardens, flying display of birds of prey, rides on ponies, and a range of other activities.

Mulhouse Zoological and Botanical Park

The Mulhouse Zoological and Botanical Park is a French zoological park located in the Grand Est region in the departement of Haut-Rhin, in the southeast of the city of Mulhouse, district of Rebberg. Created in 1868 by philanthropists industrialists, led by Charles Thierry-Mieg son, he was successively the property of the Cercle mulhousien, of the Industrial Society of Mulhouse, and then of the City from 1893. It is now managed by the agglomeration community of Mulhouse region, Mulhouse Alsace Agglomération. Its director is, since 2010, the veterinary Brice Lefaux.
