Kait Parker

Kait Parker is an atmospheric scientist who recently worked for weather.com and The Weather Channel app. [1] She can also occasionally be seen on Good Morning America where she fills-in for meteorologist Rob Marciano on weekends. [2] Prior to her role with weather.com, she was an on-camera meteorologist and host of America's Morning Headquarters Weekend Edition alongside Reynolds Wolf. She left The Weather Channel television network in early 2016. [3] As of Labor Day weekend in 2019, she has been noticed contributing to weather.com, particularly in presenting and analyzing information about Hurricane Dorian. [4]

Parker made national headlines [5] in 2016 with a rebuttal to Breitbart, a far-right website that used a video of her in an article claiming that the Earth was cooling rather than warming. [6] The Webby Awards chose Parker's video as an honoree in the category of viral in 2017. [7]

In 2016, Parker released a mini-documentary called Toxic Lake: The Untold Story of Lake Okeechobee about cyanobacteria (blue-green algae) and water management in Florida where she was both producer and correspondent. The project has gone on to win The Society of Professional Journalists' top honor for Digital Video and nominated for the News and Documentary Emmy Awards for Outstanding Science and Environmental Reporting. She was also named to the Grist 50 list of Climate Fixers in 2017 and was featured in Marie Claire Magazine's first issue on sustainability. [10] [11]

Parker received a Bachelor of Science in Atmospheric Science from The University of Missouri in May 2009. Parker has also earned her Certified Broadcast Meteorologist Seal of Approval from the American Meteorological Society. [12]

Parker began her career by filling in at KOMU-TV in Columbia, Mo., in 2006 while still enrolled at the University of Missouri. Upon graduation in May 2009, she became weekday morning and midday meteorologist for WAKA-TV in Montgomery, AL. [13] From there she went on to WPTV-TV [14] in West Palm Beach, FL where she was first hired as weekend meteorologist but was quickly put into a weekday role. Parker left WPTV-TV in early 2014 and went to work for The Weather Channel. [15]

Parker was born and raised in Grapevine, Texas, and often points to her mother and father as the source of her interest in science. She is currently married and announced her first pregnancy in April 2020. [16]

She began her career in 1997 at WTLV-TV in Jacksonville, Florida, and joined The Weather Channel in 2000. She stayed there until 2008, while she started working at KXAS-TV in Dallas, Texas. She left KXAS-TV in 2012. She rejoined The Weather Channel in April 2013.

Cindy Preszler is an on-air meteorologist with CBS-owned WFOR-TV in Miami, Florida. She was previously with WFTX-TV, in Fort Myers, Florida, and WeatherSTL.com, a dynamic, interactive site she created and owned that delivered up-to-date weather information for the Greater St. Louis metro area, from 2016 through January, 2019. She was the chief meteorologist at KSDK, the NBC affiliate in St. Louis, Missouri, from 1998 until 2016. Prior to arriving in St. Louis in October, 1998, the South Dakota native worked at several TV stations, including Chicago's NBC-owned WMAQ-TV, as well as on The Weather Channel (1987–92). Megan Linnea Glaros is an American meteorologist. She was formerly the weekday morning meteorologist for WBBM-TV in Chicago and the weekend meteorologist/weekday entertainment reporter for WCBS-TV in New York City.

Keenan Smith is an American television broadcaster who is a reporter/anchor for the morning and noon newscasts at WXYZ-TV in Detroit, Michigan. Smith joined the network around September 2010 and served as the morning and noon meteorologist until March 2018. WXYZ-TV meteorologist Kevin Jeanes succeeded him with this role in the same time frame. Prior to his employment at WXYZ-TV, he was at WPTV in West Palm Beach, Florida, from 2008 to 2010 and WGN-TV and CLTV in Chicago, Illinois, before that.

Weather Center Live was an American weather news television program on The Weather Channel. Airing in various timeslots throughout the daytime hours and serving as The Weather Channel's de facto flagship forecast program, it features weather forecasts, analysis and weather-related feature segments. This program, the current incarnation of Weather Center, debuted on March 2, 2009.

Airing every morning from 6 a.m. to 12 p.m. Eastern Time, the program focuses on morning weather conditions, news and business information from around the country. The program debuted on January 3, 2000, under its original title. If there is a major weather event, it used to air until 10 am, however since 2017, it's usually cut back an hour for additional live broadcasts for Weather Center Live.

Paul Deanno is a Meteorologist for KCBS-TV and KCAL-TV in Los Angeles, CA. Previously, Deanno worked as the Chief Meteorologist for KPIX-TV in San Francisco and also worked as a meteorologist at WMAQ-TV in Chicago, KOMO-TV in Seattle, KYW-TV in Philadelphia, KENS in San Antonio, KREM (TV) in Spokane, and KDRV in Medford.
