Kaj Schmidt

Kaj Schmidt (born 20 April 1926) is a Danish sprint canoer who competed in the early 1960s. He finished fifth in the K-2 1000 m event at the 1960 Summer Olympics in Rome. [1] In the K-2 he competed together with his brother Vagn Schmidt.

Wolfgang Schmidt is a former German track and field athlete, who competed for East Germany at the 1976 Summer Olympics and won the silver medal in the discus throw. A former world record holder, he also won several medals at the European Athletics Championships. Schmidt made headlines in 1982 due to his failed attempt to escape from East Germany. He later competed for the Federal Republic of Germany and won third place in the 1990 European Athletics Championships. Born in Berlin, he competed for the SC Dynamo Berlin / Sportvereinigung (SV) Dynamo.

Arne Sørensen (Danish footballer) Danish footballer and coach

Arne Sørensen was a Danish association football player and coach. In his playing career, Sørensen won a total three Danish championships with B 1903 and B 93, before moving abroad to play professionally in French football. He played 30 games and scored four goals as a midfielder for the Denmark national football team. As a coach, Sørensen won silver medals with the Danish national team at the 1960 Summer Olympics, and also won the Danish championship with Esbjerg fB, KB, and Hvidovre IF.

The Kaj Schmidt Memorial is an architectural landmark commemorating a Danish sailor who drowned in 1930 trying to save the life of a girl. It is located at Elliot's Beach in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. The monument was in a derelict state, but has recently been restored.
