Kajal Kumari (born 1999) is an Indian female carrom player who represents India internationally and also works as an officer at the Indian Oil. [1] During the 2018 Carrom World Cup, she created history by becoming the first ever woman to clinch the overall combined Swiss League title after defeating defending Swiss League champion Chamil Cooray of Sri Lanka in the combined Swiss League final. [2]
She started playing carrom in 2005 and also went onto compete in state level carrom championships. [3] Kajal Kumari later emerged as one of the finest carrom players in the state level competitions and went onto represent India at Carrom World Championships and in the Carrom World Cup tournaments. Kajal was part of the Indian women's carrom squad which won the 2014 Carrom World Cup title defeating Sri Lanka in the final. She also secured bronze medal in the women's singles at the 2014 World Cup with gold medal eventually secured by fellow Indian Rashmi Kumari. [6] She became champion at the 2015 ICF Cup defeating fellow Indian Tuba Sehar in the final. [7] Kajal Kumari was also one of the key members of the Indian team which won the 2016 Carrom World Championship beating India in the final and also won the women's doubles with S Apoorva. [8]
She also played a pivotal role in India's defense at the 2018 Carrom World Cup where India thrashed Sri Lanka 3-0 in the final. [9] [10]
Carrom is a tabletop game of Indian origin. The game is very popular in South Asia, and is known by various names in different languages. In South Asia, many clubs and cafés hold regular tournaments. Carrom is very commonly played by families, including children, and at social functions. Carrom is not a patented game. It is in the public domain. Different standards and rules exist in different areas. It became very popular in United Kingdom and the Commonwealth realms during the early 20th century.

He has been playing for Sri Lanka from 2004 to date who was also the captain of the Sri Lanka Men's Carrom team that won the 2016 Carrom World Championship in Birmingham, England. The 2018 Carrom World Cup was the 5th edition of the Carrom World Cup which held in the city of Chuncheon, South Korea for 7 days from 23 August to 26 August. This was staged as the first international carrom tournament since the 2016 Carrom World Championship and also marked the first Carrom World Cup to be held in South Korea. The World Cup was hosted in Chuncheon as a part of the 2018 World Leisure Games which includes other sports such as ice hockey, slalom, taekwondo and darts. Sri Lanka won the men's Carrom World Cup and India won the women's World Cup tournament in their respective finals mayil is the winner.
Ankita Bhakat is an Indian recurve archer who is currently ranked world number 51 by the World Archery Federation. She is a member of the Indian national recurve team and competes in international events in the women's individual, women's team and the mixed team recurve categories. She competed in the 2017 World Archery Youth Championships held at Rosario, Argentina and won the gold medal in the recurve junior mixed team event with partner Jemson Singh Ningthoujam.

She also currently works as a senior administrative officer in Life Insurance Corporation of India. She is also the first world champion in any sport to have emerged from the city of Hyderabad.
