Kajal Sinha (died 25 April 2021) was an Indian politician and a Member of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly from Khardaha in 2021. [1]

Biography

He was a leader of All India Trinamool Congress. Sinha died from COVID-19 aged 56 before the result of 2021 West Bengal Legislative Assembly election. [2] [3]

2016 West Bengal Legislative Assembly election state legislative assembly Election

A Legislative Assembly election was held in 2016 for the 294 seats of the Vidhan Sabha in the state of West Bengal in India. The All India Trinamool Congress under Mamata Banerjee won 211 seats, and thus was reelected with an enhanced majority. Like in the 2011 election, the poll was held in six phases, with the first phase divided into two days. The first phase was held in Naxalite-Maoist affected Red corridor areas with two polling dates: 4 April and 11 April. The other phases were held on 17, 21, 25, 30 April and 5 May. The result of the election was declared on 19 May.

Gouri Sankar Dutta was an Indian Politician from the state of West Bengal. He was a member of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly. He represented the Tehatta assembly constituency as a member of the All India Trinamool Congress. In March 2021, he along with Bachchu Hansda joined Bharatiya Janata Party after being denied ticket for 2021 West Bengal Legislative Assembly election. He died of COVID-19 at age 70 on 28 April 2021.

Voting for the two remaining constituencies was delayed and was scheduled to be held on 16 May 2021. Polling in Nandigram took place on 1 April.

Bengal post-poll violence refers to the violence—including murders, rapes and vandalism—that are reported to have happened in some parts of West Bengal after the announcement of results of the 2021 West Bengal Legislative Assembly election. In reality it was continuation of the violence which took place across the state during the election.
