Kaleb Nobles is an American football coach. He is the head football coach for the University of West Florida, a position he has held since 2023.

Playing career

Nobles grew up Fitzgerald, Georgia and attended Fitzgerald High School College and Career Academy. [2] As a senior, he completed 107-of-162 pass attempts for 1,481 yards and 15 touchdowns with four interceptions. [3]

Nobles initially played college football at Valdosta State. [4] He played in ten games with two starts as a freshman and passed for 967 yards and 12 touchdowns. As a sophomore Nobles completed 103-of-164 pass attempts for 1,042 yards and seven touchdowns. He competed for the starting quarterback job entering his junior season, but suffered a groin injury in training camp. [5] Nobles ultimately redshirted the season and transferred to West Florida, which had just established its football program. He was named the starting quarterback for the Argonauts inaugural season. [6] Nobles passed for 3,050 yards with 28 touchdowns and 18 interceptions in 11 games played in his final season. [7]

Coaching career

Nobles began his coaching career as the quarterbacks coach at West Florida after graduating. [8] He was promoted to co-offensive coordinator entering the 2019 season. [9] West Florida won the 2019 Division II National Championship. [10] Nobles was hired in an off-field role as the director of offensive player development at Clemson in 2021. [11]

Nobles was hired as the head coach at West Florida on December 12, 2022. [1] The Argonauts went 8-4 in his first season as head coach and made the NCAA Division II playoffs, where they lost to Delta State in the first round. [12]

Jackson played professionally in the CFL for eight seasons with the Lions and one year with the Argonauts where he won three Grey Cup championships in 2006, 2011, and 2012. He has also been a member of the Denver Broncos (NFL), to whom he was drafted 214th overall in the 2000 NFL Draft, and the Barcelona Dragons. Jackson played college football for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

Dusty Bonner is a former American football quarterback. He was a standout Harlon Hill Trophy winner in 2000 and 2001 while playing for Valdosta State University, and was signed as an undrafted free agent in 2002 by the Atlanta Falcons.

Kerwin Douglas Bell is an American football coach and former player who has been the head coach of the Western Carolina Catamounts football team since 2021. Bell was born in the rural North Central Florida town of Live Oak and was a star high school football quarterback at Lafayette County High School. Though he led the Lafayette Hornets to their only state championship, he did not attract the attention of top college football programs while playing at the small high school. He enrolled at the University of Florida, made the football team as a walk-on, and was redshirted during his freshman season of 1983.

Chris Hatcher is an American football coach and former player. He is the head football coach at Samford University, a position he has held since 2014. Hatcher served as the head football coach at Valdosta State University from 2000 to 2006, Georgia Southern University from 2007 to 2009, and Murray State University from 2010 to 2014. His Valdosta State Blazers won the NCAA Division II Football Championship in 2004. Hatcher played college football as a quarterback at Valdosta State from 1991 to 1994.

The Valdosta State football team represents Valdosta State University in football. The Blazers are a member of the Gulf South Conference (GSC) in NCAA Division II. Valdosta State University has had a football team since 1981. The Blazers play in Bazemore–Hyder Stadium in Valdosta, Georgia, which has a capacity of 11,249. The stadium is also the home of the historical Valdosta High School Wildcats. The Blazers have won a total of four Division II National Championship titles.

Pete Shinnick is an American football coach and former player. He is the head football coach at the Towson University in Towson, Maryland. As the head coach of West Florida, Shinnick won the school's first football national championship in 2019. The football team began play in 2016. 2017 was a big year for Shinnick, as he led the University of West Florida Argonauts to the NCAA Division II playoffs, making them the fastest team to do so. He broke the record he held at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke, that being three years. Shinnick also won the 2017 AFCA Region 2 Coach of the Year. He later won the 2017 AFCA Division II Coach of the Year. On December 21, 2019, Shinnick won the NCAA D-II National Championship with the UWF Argos in just the program's 4th year of existence.

Jeffrey Kyle Mathews is a former American football quarterback who played four seasons in the Canadian Football League (CFL). He played college football at Cornell, where he was ranked among the top 20 quarterbacks in passing yardage in Division I FCS history. He surpassed the Cornell record for total passing yards by more than 2,000 yards and ended his collegiate career as the holder of 47 Cornell and 18 Ivy League conference records. After going undrafted in the 2014 NFL Draft, Mathews spent the summer with the Atlanta Falcons, and was a practice squad member of the Indianapolis Colts and the Arizona Cardinals. He moved north to the CFL, playing two seasons with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and a season each with the Toronto Argonauts and the Montreal Alouettes.

The West Florida Argonauts football program is the intercollegiate American football team for the University of West Florida located in the U.S. state of Florida. The team competes in the NCAA Division II and are members of the Gulf South Conference. West Florida's first football team was fielded in 2016. The team plays its home games at Pen Air Field in Pensacola, Florida. The Argonauts are coached by Kaleb Nobles.

Logan Kilgore is a former quarterback with the Canadian Football League from 2015 to 2019. Kilgore made his professional debut in 2016 for the Toronto Argonauts and remained with the Argonauts until 2017. He also spent a year each with the Hamilton Tiger Cats and Edmonton Eskimos. After ending his CFL career in 2019, Kilgore accumulated 2,010 yards and 11 touchdowns.

The 2019 West Florida Argonauts football team represented the University of West Florida as a member of the Gulf South Conference (GSC) during the 2019 NCAA Division II football season. They were led by fourth-year head coach Pete Shinnick. The Argonauts played their home games at Blue Wahoos Stadium. The Argonauts won the 2019 NCAA Division II Football Championship by defeating Minnesota State, 48–40 in the 2019 NCAA Division II Football Championship Game.

The 2021 West Florida Argonauts football team represented the University of West Florida as a member of the Gulf South Conference (GSC) during the 2021 NCAA Division II football season. They were led by sixth-year head coach Pete Shinnick. The Argonauts played their home games at Admiral Fetterman Field in Pensacola, Florida.

Rodney Coates is an American football wide receiver. He played college football at West Florida where he won the NCAA Division II Football Championship in 2019.

Austin Reed is an American football quarterback for the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers.

David Durden is an American football wide receiver for the Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Mercer before transferring to West Florida. He also played minor league baseball in the Boston Red Sox organization.
